I just from memory can never remember us doing well there. Still we may play them again so we’ve got to get something there to stay in it at some point
If we do need the point and 0-0 at 85 minutes with Sunderland and Millwall winning, what then ???
If we let one in they would finish ahead of usThen we hope Sunderland only win by 1?
If we let one in they would finish ahead of us
So I get that every team want's to finish as high up the league as possible, but is it a massive benefit for Boro to finish 3rd instead of 4th, with the only exception being who they play in the first games? They have. If they beat Rotherham and Blackburn beat luton, then they can clinch 3rd
Switch off and go for a walk.If we do need the point and 0-0 at 85 minutes with Sunderland and Millwall winning, what then ???

Most seem to be angling towards letting us draw to keep Sunderland out.Anybody been on any 'Boro forums to see how/what they are feeling??

Brings back memories of maths lessons at school. Good work.Suppose it's because of the cumulative effect of all three results coming in.
Only way we drop out is if all three results go against us.
So Middlesborugh win, Sunderland and Millwall win. Any other result in any of the three matches will have us qualifying for play offs.
Say Middlesbrough, Millwall, Sunderland are all favourites for there matches with 50% chance to win, 25% chance to lose and 25% chance of a draw for simplicity.
The odds of all three winning would be 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 which is 0.125 or as a percentage the likelihood is 12.5%
The only view that really matters is that of the Boro manager. I don't see him going easy. This was one view:
Will be very interesting to see our approach for the Cov game.
Do we rest players and keep our cards close to our chest knowing the likelihood is we’re heading into a two-leg tie against them? And while momentum is important, do you play a full strength team in what is essentially a nothing game and run the risk that we get any more injuries to key players?
I will say I wouldn’t want to be the ones relying on us to get a result. You’ve got one team who will be looking at it as a cup final, against another team probably just hoping to get through it with a clean bill of health.
Rivalry? Thinking it will be a tougher fixture vs them? Most seem to be angling towards letting us draw to keep Sunderland out.
If we miss out it'll be on goal difference and while that'll be tough to take, it's not like we didn't have enough chances against Birmingham or Reading to have created a proper cushion. Hopefully Preston turn up and make it an irrelevance.Rivalry? Thinking it will be a tougher fixture vs them?
As I said previously - they could fancy getting one over them at Wembley!?... being well up for our fixture.
Thing is, it doesn't matter what the fans think... it is down to the respective squads... and despite what anybody says, it is hard for a side/players to go into a game and not play competitively...

Yeah, but luckily he isn't playing. The only view that really matters is that of the Boro manager. I don't see him going easy.
Gudjonnson, Deloumeaux and Joachim?Play the Black players or lose
Exactly had gyokeres taken his 6 chances against reading we would already be safeIf we miss out it'll be on goal difference and while that'll be tough to take, it's not like we didn't have enough chances against Birmingham or Reading to have created a proper cushion. And would thus confirm MR alongside Hill as our greatest ever manager.Just imagine the Sunderland fans if we play out a bore 0-0 draw and it knocks them out them play offs. Their hate for robins will be up there with Jimmy hill
