And should the club sell its MAIN asset , which is likely , you'd be dissapointed with no significant shift in budget

We will see
We will, but in the meantime we can either choose to be optimistic and hopeful that King is going to invest his money seeing as he wants we the fans to also.
The proof will ultimately be in the pudding. But I think Robins has not sounded happier since King came in tbh. He seems positive about the future. If Robins is then why shouldn't we be positive also?

We will most likely also have huge finances available after the sale of vik , should we fail to go up

What we have to be wary of is that whatever we get for Vik, Brighton will be snapping off a percentage of that, I would then assume Doug will have some for updating of Ryton/increase in rent at CBS/increased wages, so what will be left for MR may be less than we would all be hoping for

Yes I'd imagine we will. And we all know under SISU crumbs of that would be reinvested. If Vik goes and we use those funds to keep the rest of our players increase our strength in depth to really push on and cement a top 6 place then we would all be happy.

For me seeing the stuff at Ryton is great but it's mainly for the players and staff and club long term, but for us as fans (and I'm sure King knows this) what we see is the team on the pitch. And we will judge it on that. And if he delivers some exciting signings and contract extentions etc I think most of us would be feeling pretty confident for next season.

So is the plan again to be owned by someone who doesn’t want to actually inject funds?

Because you may as well have one of us in charge if the owner doesn’t wish to spend their own money. Most other owners seem to provide something over and above the club’s turnover unless I’m mistaken.

He has spoken about everyone having to make sacrifices. What are his?
He said he's spending on Ryton, although I'd imagine the vik sale will cover any costs on that , unless we go up

He bought out SISU - that will have cost him £££££££s. They used to levy charges on the club, as well as harming the balance sheet with interest charges. If he has put us back on an even keel, I think it's a bit unfair to start asking him where his 'further millions' are. If he gets us operating on a relatively sustainable basis, I'll be happy (obviously we hope that leads to on the pitch success). If MR is happy with him, and optimistic, that'll do for me, for now.

Why should an owner inject his own money? If he gives Robins money from sales etc, surely that’s an improvement on the last lot.
And Robins was always going to say things are still tight,he doesn’t want anyone to know he has money to spend.

I don’t expect him to pump in silly money. But if the plan is to put in nothing above what the club makes, you may as well have it fan run. Most owners do put in something extra each season at our level and above.

There is zero evidence he has spent any money - last time I looked the SB and L charge still exists.

Player sales have been used to fund the squad for years - Sisu have had to borrow around £4m per annum to stay in existence since promotion - where is that coming from now?

I think you are counting the paper losses rather than the cash flow
2m of that was their own accrued interest

I'm assuming the loan has gone , but you're going to say its not which is fantastic 🤨

well I’m sure it’s gone somewhere but I highly doubt Doug king has paid any money off it at all

He said previously that he’s willing to finance club infrastructure but the club has to be able to support itself in general running costs.

Sounds optimistic whilst also not wanting to alert anyone that we have money available so that they crank up the price/wages. However, it is also really just a bit of standard PR to coincide with the Season Tickets announcement.

Agreed. All I’ve wanted/expected is someone to reinvest anything generated by player sales back into the running and development of the football club and not have to fire sell players at knock down prices. That’s a step up from sisu. If someone comes in who can deliver more than that, great, but they haven’t appeared so far.

I think alot of people are getting ahead of themselves, the stability of the stadium and an owner that turns up to games cheering for the team with a smile and who doesn't hide is a MASSIVE improvement on Sisu. Imagine having a start to the next championship season (assuming we don't go up) that isn't riddled with issues actually stopping us from playing football matches, let alone in Coventry..

I mean, it's the bare essentials and we didn't even have that at the start of this season. We're on a far better path than at the start of this season, regardless how it plays out, Doug has been brilliant for us.

I for the moment will give him a chance. However from the minute he “took over” I’ve had the nagging feeling that this is no more than SISU 2

Im sure Sisu are still around in some form or other
