Doug King Song (6 Viewers)

That Sky Blue Hub account on Twitter is hilarious. Was saying Doug is his king and wanting him to do lap of honours and now going on about Doug King spitting in his face.

Bandwagons and having to be the most extreme while on them are a terrible thing.

I think parts of the season ticket approach are misguided but it doesn’t change the fact that King did buy out Sisu, didn’t sell the Crown Jewels in January, we did bring in loan players that have our play offs push, we have a new 5 yr ground deal in place, the training ground is being revamped etc …. It’s early days but King wants to make the club more commercial off the field to enable being more successful on the field. Time will tell. I personally don’t like the approach to junior season tickets but in the round he’s doing the right things.

I have said on the other thread I don't see much of an issue, the club needs money.

The song is still awful though.

Always have to remember that owners don’t need to be our BFFs and our interests aren’t always aligned. Any owner trying too hard to be “one of us” is more suspicious and cringy than cool imo.

Everything you listed, bar improving the training ground, is something that SISU also did last season (or within the recent past specfically in regard to the stadium deal.). If improving the training ground is all it takes to become the new messiah then someone better start thinking up a Richard Overson song pronto.

There's no funking way Vik and Hamer would both still be here now if Sisu were still in the building. So it's fare to say that our continued involvement in the play off fight is down in part to DK.

For that alone he deserves credit. He's listened to MR and brought in a very good loan player, and pushed ahead with the improvements to pitches at Ryton.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but IMHO its so far, so good.

It will be the loudest song on Monday, as it has been since he came.

We kept hold of all of them under SISU last season when we were flying too.

I don’t think he’s done a bad job, he just hasn’t done anything to warrant the level of adulation he’s already receiving.

Football fans in general have a bad habit of uncritically celebrating any change of ownership in a manner that would leave you think Jesus Christ himself had decided to buy a football club. Charlton are one example that spring to mind. When their current owner, Thomas Sandgard, came in they have similar levels of adulation for him for ‘rescuing them’ from the previous owner and now they all want him out because he’s not kept his promises and they’ve gone backwards. Someone shouldn’t be praised and celebrated simply for buying a football club, wait a few season ideally, or at least until the end of their first proper transfer window (!!), before the bloody Doug King masks and celebratory songs get wheeled out.

You can tell who are the bitter, senile old f*ckers (I mean that in the nicest, friendliest way possible :ROFLMAO: ) who have had enough of the heartbreak of too many broken promises.

Let go, allow yourselves to be vulnerable. Learn to love again! So what if people are getting carried away, positivity from the crowd has made what the atmosphere in the ground is today. If it was up to you old farts, we'd be drinking Bovril and the famous 4 would have been boo'ed out the club before they had a chance.

Though I really think someone needs to reign in Will King's ego.

Anyone singing in homage to their football clubs owner is a fucking balloon, it's as simple as that.

Good luck persuading the Wrexham fans of that.

Using that logic you would also be a balloon for singing anti club owner songs !?!(
Yeah and when they stop climbing and ffp kicks in they won't be as keen.

I can understand it with the likes of Dave Whelan and Jack Walker who were local people made good and invested their money to see the football team prosper

You must be joking.

Wrexham as a town and as a club have never been more high profile. The whole town has bee. Given a trading lift. They will be left in a much better position that they were found. Any logical fan will see that and appreciate that.
