Doug King Song (7 Viewers)

The song was cringeworthy. SISU are the big baddy that we've finally got rid of but Doug King is still an unknown quantity - even SISU spoke a good game and initially invested in the team when they first came in.

In fairness, I don't think the changes to season ticket prices are unreasonable at all. ST prices will likely remain in the bottom half of the most ST prices in the league and for a team that's been in the top half and probably playoff team this season, the value is decent.

We're all feeling the pinch atm economically, but operating costs have gone up for businesses too and as a club we need to up revenues and ST prices is a significant % of that.

I don't think I've ever heard fans singing about the owners of football clubs before, not in a positive way anyway, when I first heard it I said to my lad WTF is that. Please somebody, stop it.

Once again this song proves that the views on here mean nothing compared to the majority.

The song was rocking on Saturday and it will be Monday. It will be even louder if we are playing a play off match next week.

It's the bandwagon thing though, isn't it? People just copy.

Again, the "majority" and singers corner were singing "there's only one gary hoffman" etc. If it's about being in the "majority" then I guess if it goes downhill the same people will be singing they want him out.

Only have to look at that sky blue hub account giving it the "he's my king" and then when season tickets come out "Doug King spat in my face".

With all this whining going on I assume the Doug King honeymoon is over then.

Never begun for me, and not against him either. Just not going to stick my tongue up his arse.

People are making complete fools of themselves and my worry is he's buying into it.
Should never of been on the pitch Saturday, its got nothing to do with him.

Amen.

If there was no song, there would have been no cringe-worthy video.

Any song that creates a good atmosphere is welcome and this does that. You lot are so miserable

Glad someone said it. It's a celebratory song.

It will die off after this season. Unless we go up, obviously.

Well not really. Would you rather silence than a song that gets the crowd and players up?

I’d much rather another one from our selection of songs.

Even “<insert team> get battered everywhere they go” is easier to hear than this cringe fest.

You're right, it was total silence all around the ground before Doug came along ;)

On the subject of a recently posted reply.

What Robins in particular, and his teams have achieved is brilliant. No wonder he has reached a godly status around here. A guy who owned us for half a season? I’ll hold my horses thanks!

I'm not a fan of the song in particular but equally nothing against it. It's part of the feelgood factor, a new tune for us and adds to the atmosphere. Tbh it doesn't really matter what the words are.

I say fair play to him for doing the video etc regarding the season tickets-even got a plug for his brother’s company in their aswell-self PR but also a good sport for doing it.
As regards the song-yes a bit cringeworthy but adds to the atmosphere I guess-not really fussed one way or the other.
In the future if we hit a bad patch it will soon fade away!
