Just received an email from Nationwide stating they will be depositing £100 in each of their members accounts. Appears that they have had a very good year profits wise. Good timing as both me and my wife are "members", will help pay for the new season ticket. May be worth checking if you have an account you don't use very often, or have forgotten about, and you don't get emails from Nationwide.

What about an account and a loan 🤣

It's my main account yes
Details here anyway

To be eligible, members must use Nationwide as their main current account and have one other product – either a savings account or a mortgage – with a minimum £100 balance.

Will this include a random ISA I’ve not put money in for 12 years?

EDIT: Guess not then 😂

Doesn’t look like I’ll get it. Have had a current account for 15 years but barely used it for the last 5, and a credit card I use fairly often but that doesn’t count.

This looks to me like nothing more than a bribe to persuade non-members to move their current a/c and savings or mortgage a/c to Nationwide.

In my opinion all existing paid-up members should benefit from any profit made by a society.

By the way I'm not a member myself although I do hold their credit card and am often addressed as one in correspondence.

I am a man of great honesty and integrity....... but who doesn't like a bribe?

Got it last year but I'm an idiot for not having a smidge in their saver.

Am trying the £200 existing customer switch offer though, despite having received the incentive a couple of years back.

Nationwide customers across the country are set to miss out on a £100 bonus due to the building society's strict conditions.

Just 3.85 million out of its 16 million customers, roughly 24 per cent, are eligible for the bonus £100 Fairer Share payment.

However, the scheme, which is running for the second year, has a complicated set of criteria.

In order to access the bonus, you must have paid at least £500 into a Nationwide current account for two of the first three months of the year and made two payments out.

You also need to have held £100 in a Nationwide savings account or have owed at least £100 on a mortgage at the end of March.

The price cap may have dropped but the amount you actually pay might not.

Octopus just raised my direct debit from £140 to £160 a month.

Ours is £275 a month and that barely makes a dent in the debt 🤣 but I refuse to go up to their proposed £350 and remain hopeful the price drop and summer months see it come down.

I do have a plug in hybrid and three kids in device heavy bedrooms. Plus I work from home. But our bill still seems colossal in comparison to anyone I speak to. This is with Octopus on their cheap after midnight tarrif.

My tariff is about £8-9..higher per month than it was before all this started, I do sympathise with all those getting stung, I do use very little though!

Nationwide is still sending me updates addressed to a former tenant. I have to assume the latest one is about the bonus as I have been returning them unopened for nearly two years now.
