Dabo taking one was a surprise, of those left I thought Bidwell and Fadz would have a go.

Equally I was massive worried when Eccles, Kelly and Sheaf stepped up.

Dabo will feel the weight of the world on him today. His penalty was absolutely atrocious but he doesn’t deserve that and as fans - and a club - we should support him.

Feel for Dabo, I don't blame him. Penalties are an awful way to go out but that's the game.
Is that your opinion you've formed this season when your sat in your armchair at home watching?

Always seems to be the ones that barely go to games are the ones that have to give their negative opinions of players.

That's a really childish contribution and also completely incorrect on several levels.

Take the entire penalty thing and put it to one side. Unfortunately, he has been a really poor for us for a while. I'm not sure how anyone could try and argue differently.

Yesterday that didn't really matter because as far as I'm aware no one booed him or slated him on the pitch. The team were well backed with a lot of positive support I felt. Many people were, however, fearing the worst when he stepped forward. That isn't for absolutely no reason as was proved about 30 seconds later when he missed.

Yes it's shit, and it is difficult to carry around, but the player isn't good enough regardless. Penalty or no penalty, if the club wants to move forward he shouldn't play for us again. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Robins said we were going to practice them so I'm sure we did.

Maybe Dabo was banging them in during practice.

Maybe some of the designated takers lost their bottle.

Who knows
There’s 4 potential penalty takers not on the field in Hamer, Palmer, Doyle and Allen…

Surprised me too but with injury time and extra time, those two had just played 140 minutes in the sun. I know it's just one more kick but if you're physically and mentally fatigued then you'd rather, without the benefit of hindsight, that they didn't.

The culture in football around penalties is quite strange. This thing about, in the heat of the moment, ‘who wants to step up and take one?’.
You’d think the manager would assess who’s best after a lot of training, have a chat about coping with pressure etc and draw up a list in priority order. Then just follow it depending who is on the pitch.
Dabo was likely to volunteer because of his personality that doesn’t mean he was the best choice.

Pretty sure that Robins said he’d already selected the penalty takers for Middlesbrough 2nd leg ahead of the match? Thankfully not needed then.

The order should have been known before the game. Obviously hamer going off changed things but should have plans.

Doyle as well, and Palmer. I think the original plan if everyone was fit was Godden, Vik, Hamer, Palmer, Doyle, Sheaf Eccles, Allen, Kelly

Which is a lot stronger TBF.

Robins himself said that Hamer, Doyle and Palmer would have taken penalties if they’d still been on the pitch, Dabo was our ninth choice penalty taker and ended up taking the first kick of sudden death. Call it bad management, call it bad luck, it’s a horrible situation to be in.

In fairness there was never going to be a situation where all these players were going to be on the pitch to finish the game - there’s only one defender in that list!

Yeah I didn’t put Allen in then I did and TBH I shouldn’t. I think the plan was always to go with Godden coming on for him so he was on the pitch at the end. The rest I think is doable with a couple of quick subs at the end.

Wilson
Eccles Fadz Doyle Bidwell
Hamer Kelly Sheaf
Palmer
Godden Vik

Could even drop Sheaf and Palmer back one if you want the same shape.

I might be wrong but I think you have to give the order of the penalty takers, Dabo was first of our sudden death group.

Is there honestly anyone who thought that Eccles, Kelly, or Sheaf were going to score their pens?! You’re all total madmen.
Yes, I did to be honest. Was hoping Wilson would save one, rather than our lads not hitting the target. Gutted for us all but particularly upset for Dabbs, he showed courage to step up and don't deserve the vile abuse he's getting.

The racist abuse is 100% wrong. Doesn’t matter what the colour of his skin is. That’s irrelevant.

What matters is his miss, has cost us going up, our best chance in the last 21 years of returning to the PL, because he simply couldn’t kick a football properly from 12 yards with only the keeper to beat.

I for one, hope we never see him at the CBS again, because my feelings towards him, which have been swaying all season from one of my favourite players, has now gone right the other way to one of my most hated players.

But none of this should be based on the colour of his skin

Probably doesn't need me to repeat it, but this is an absolutely awful opinion.

Prefer you to fuck off from the club to be quite honest. Idiot.

And yet you felt the need to anyway, well done 👏

unfortunately for you I will be back at the CBS to support the team as I have done all season, home and away.

I can only hope the club get rid of the useless deadwood that have cost us our place in the PL.

All but one of the penalties were perfect and unstoppable. Should be no criticism oat all of Dabo.
I’m happy to criticise the penalty but it’s completely understandable given the pressure
In fact more likely than the others that managed it so well

Every single one of us are hurting. You need to find a punch bag smash ten bells of shit out of it and start to move on. Anger has a way of getting people in trouble.

And acting like a c**t if you don’t mind me saying.

I don’t mind one bit, I know I am, and honestly I don’t care

I’ve never felt like this after a game of football, I usually see the positives in a game even if we get beat , but there is nothing from yesterday. We’re back to square one in the league. This was our chance , dabo fucked it up for us

BUllshit.

He missed a pen in a highly-tense situation.

If it gets to pens then you accept its a complete fucking lottery.

Doesn't matter how angry it makes you (and i was devastated), it doesn't change that fact.
