Yes it’s mentioned on the Bristol City forum, I just had to have a look to make sure he had played for Chelsea at some point.

Another ex Chelsea. Looks like he’s had a decent career. I think it was he who scored against us in our first game back in the Championship.

Remember him scoring against us first day of the season on return to Championship and thinking what hope do we have when our opponents have players such as a Czech international who cost 8 million. We haven't done too badly since have we.

Bristol City

On 23 August 2018, still in the Championship, Kalas joined Bristol City on a season long-loan along with fellow Chelsea loanee Jay Dasilva.[47] He made 41 appearances in all competitions with the club.

On 1 July 2019, following his successful loan spell, Bristol City confirmed the permanent signing of Kalas for a club-record fee in the region of £8 million. He signed a four-year contract until 2023.[48] He scored his first goal for Bristol City in a 2-1 win against Coventry City on 12 September 2020.[49]

Would be on pretty big wages so might mean no Mcnally?

Or I guess Fadz may start to get phased out a little anyway.

Kalas was Bristol's skipper before Pearson so he's a leader and I believe he did play the middle of a back three.

On a side note, I rate McFadz and he's an absolute credit for maintaining the performances he has, but he's turning 37 and not getting any younger. Ideally we need a replacement sooner rather than later.

I would think they'd be after someone to come in for Fadz like you say and really we should be after at least 3 cbs, maybe 4, so shouldn't affect any possible McNally deal.

Mcnally has the potential to play the Fadz role, and Kalas could probably play there too with his experience.

Fadz definitely struggled against Adebayo on Saturday.

Getting ahead of ourselves, but a back three of:

McNally Kalas ‘A Another’

With Fadz as a very able and experienced back up, is a pretty solid Championship back three.

Make that ‘A Another’ Doyle and I think we’d all be very happy.

To roll in another rumour:

McNally/Cresswell
Kalas/Fadz
Doyle/(Bidwell)

Is a massive upgrade on what we had the majority of last season.

Can't see Doyle happening. Do need someone to play that left hand side though.

Agree as I think Man City will loan him to a Premier League or top European league team next season.
