Gyokeres being linked with Newcastle, now that would be a move you couldn't turn down.
Source? Nothing online about this. Looks like renewing Wilson’s contract and signing Maddison is their priority.

The Swedish striker put in a fine display as he created Ben Hamer’s goal before smashing home his penalty in the shootout.

Imagine how many we’d have won by if we weren’t playing Watford’s sub keeper in centre mid.

Don't you remember how well Callum Wilson did when playing off Leon Clarke back in the dark days of League 2? I think he could play off Vik the same way, after some ongoing improvement ...
League 1! League 2 would have been a total bloodbath...

Well yeah, but I can't see he would get much game time if they want to be serious contenders for the Premier League title.

He could do with being a starter somewhere.
With Champions League and Cup matches there's more than enough game time for him.

If Newcastle want to take a punt its good for us but I would have thought they would have been in for a top striker, as good as Vik is they have just gone into the champions league and looking to maybe buy an untested player at prem league standard never mind CL standard...big gamble that is

Isak may well have mentioned him to Newcastle, stating he could be a good investment for a relatively low fee in PL terms after playing with him for Sweden.

Newcastle have cash to splash, so they are going to be linked with absolutely everybody.
If they want a striker, they'll buy one with a proven top flight record, not one with a couple of decent seasons in the championship.

If any one has the time or inclination, we could come up with a league table of bullshit rumour sources, then people could just ignore any source that's not in the champions league positions.

I would agree with this if they had a different manager but Howe doesn't necessarily operate that way. In fairness they can afford a proven striker AND still take a £25 million punt on Vik without even breaking a sweat.

Depends if you back yourself doesn't it?

I'm 62 and would back myself. But I wouldn't figure in the team.

I love Gyko and want him to stay but what premier scout is going to think he is worth what it’s going to take to prize him from us, £20M? He generally needs a handful of chances to score and is being easily marked out the game. Granted he assisted in the final but did nothing else for 119 minutes. He needs to continue to develop his game first imo

If Newcastle want him they will get him and they would have even if we had made the premier.

Can’t see it. They’ve just made champions league. They’ll be looking for a higher calibre of player.

Big squad is needed for how deep they will be planning on getting into competitions

Makes sense, I think he could easily be that calibre of player one day in the future

Also worth noting that former Brighton director of football Dan Ashworth is there now. I’d imagine part of the reason he’s in the post is to get value in their recruitment rather than pissing it all away on superstars.

They've got a new shirt sponsor for £25m a season. Company barely existing a few months ago, just a holding page for a website, and now a website that doesn't work

Must just be a coincidence that said sponsor is owned by the clubs owners

How is this shit allowed?
It’s a way round the system, with Newcastle and Man City you are dealing with rulers of countries, others will follow.
