We need the Gyok Bid sooner rather than later really. Gonna make a huge difference to what Robins can do. I wonder how he's going to play it. Recruit as if Gyok is staying?

If there’s a bidding war I think it’s probably unlikely. Be a lot of poker faces and negotiation tactics.

I know the difference in quality is huge, i'm as big a critic of the rubbish that is the SPL as you'll get, but Yan Dhanda at Ross County looked a very classy player in the little i saw.

He didn’t cut it in the Championship with Swansea.

Fairly local lad, who was billed as the next big thing at one point. Didnt he end up at Liverpool before Swansea?
yeh, maybe just needed a bit of a reset to get going. No idea if where he's at now translates into Championship as its hard to tell up there, thats for scouts to figure out, but i know a player with a touch of class when i see one.

Need to get the Brewster deal over the line asap, lots of clubs in for him. I'd take the first good offer we get for Vik, we are desperate for the money. The few million from the play offs and the 'greatest money raising scam of recent history' in the Premier Season ticket has been swallowed up by the new pitch at Ryton and Doug's latest Asian cruise - checking out the local rapeseed. We can't be signing more players like Sean Maguire.

That's poor fishing even for you 😂

I see Dawkins is spreading rumours that Robins will get hardly any money from any player sales.

In all fairness while he often spouts rubbish he probably isn't all that wrong. I'd imagine a significant proportion of the Gyokeres fee will be set aside for investing into infrastructure and to cover operational costs for the forthcoming season. Then you have to factor in whatever monies are owed to Brighton and whether the club has repaid its EFL loan which from memory was over £2m.

Meaning I highly doubt anything more than a quarter of whatever the club receives will be invested back into the squad.

I've always assumed that we'd be looking at 25-50% of fees received being available to spend on fees.

Are others hoping for more?

I think there's an expectation that money will be reinvested, which it of course will be in some shape or form, but the level of expectation is difficult to gauge really.

Regardless, the notion that Robins will receive anything above 25% of the Gyokeres fee in particular to reinvest back into the playing sided is entirely unrealistic.

We need £5-10m to build the squad we need really, more if we lose Gus as well.

I think we'll need another 10-11 signings. GK, X2 RWB, LWB?, X4 CB, CM, X2 ST

I'd imagine a chunk of those will be made up of frees and loans which will be more or less covered by the club's outgoings and 3 maybe 4 will require fees which will require external investment.

Yeah I’m thinking 3/4 loans 2/3 frees, a few mill on a striker and another 4/5 paid signings from £0.5-1.5m.

Ideally to give us solid cover I’d want another striker and an AM, but depends what the plan A is next season. Big difference between 3421, 3412, 4231 or something else in what we need in terms of AMs and STs.

To build the overall quality of the squad we have to be looking at:
GK
2 RWB
3 CB
2 CM
1 AM
2 ST.

Id be hoping we would be spending money on half of them at least.

All depends what’s available doesn’t it? Someone comes up free or cheap and is the right quality then fill the squad with them, just need 25 Championship quality players.

GK/Wilson/Tyler
RWB/RWB/Burroughs
LWB/Dasilva
CB/CB/CB/CB/Fadz
CM/Hamer/Howley
Sheaf/Eccles/Kelly
AM/Palmer/O’Hare/Allen
ST/ST/ST/Godden/Tavares

13 signings, Moore and Bidwell out, solid base of 22/23 Championship players and the likes of Tavares, Howley and Burroughs at the fringes.

Bidwell out, been keeping away from the news, does it look like hes away? Id keep him personally.

I was thinking perhaps Robins might be looking at an AM but I'd imagine at best it would be a 6 month loan with O'Hare coming back later on this year and with Palmer and Allen able to fill those spots in the short term. But as you say it depends what formation Robins prefers as we'll need sufficient cover, especially with Palmer's fitness not being the best.

Given the amount of signings needed I doubt we'll bring more than two strikers, not during the summer anyway. I think Robins will focus on 3 with Tavares being the fourth and perhaps look to address it in January if required.

People adding two and two but rumour in Jan was he was going to Blues but didn’t because the Dasilva deal fell through. Also continuing rumours of us being after a LB/LWB. I’d keep him too, but depends what Robins has planned.

Id bring in two and a loan ideally. And I’d fuck Tavares off on loan.

Based on this we need.

x1 RWB
x1 LWB (permitting Bidwell goes)
x3 CB
x2 ST

Loan would be difficult as there would be an expectation of playing time - really need to be brought in as a starter.

I think if you brought in two main strikers with perhaps a young Tavares equivalent it would work.

I don't really think the club will have the capacity to bring in 13 players during the summer window. That's a momentous task with the budget available. I suspect it'll be 10-11 brought in, in the summer and perhaps another 2-3 in January.

By the time you've got to 11, it's not really much of a leap to 13!
