Some players out of contract this summer, what's peoples thoughts (data taken from Transfermarkt)?

Ethan Laird (RB)
Rhys Healey (ST)
Nathan Ferguson (RB/CB)
George Cox (LB)
Matty Longstaff (CM)
Andre Green (LW/RW)
Steven Sessegnon (RB)
Lewis Gibson (CB)
Hayden Roberts (CB)

I have looked at a very specific age group (under 25) and tried to be realistic in terms of what we could potentially afford.

Edit: Updated with player positions.
Marty Longstaff looked to have potential a few years ago. Just googled him and he’s been on loan at Colchester, wtf.

Longstaff could be worth a trial to look at him and compare to what we have. Right age and may need a fresh start in a new environment. But lots of players will be knocking about and im.sure MR has plenty of names to mull over.

Yes he looked good when he first got into the Newcastle first team, but has been on loan in league two for the last couple of seasons. You would have thought he would have signed for a championship team if any good.

I wouldn’t mind Elliott Anderson on loan.

Adam Forshaw is being released by Leeds. He has had his injury problems in the past but is an excellent midfielder. 31 so maybe not our usual signing, but I think he'd been an excellent player for us.

Also released Stuart McKinstry who were linked to last season but hasn’t done much on loan

I guess 4 goals in 18 games isn't to bad, but as we seem to have moved away from wingers I couldn't really see it. Say that fuck knows what formation we'll play next season, Robins like to keep us guessing.

I think Newcastle will want to Anderson around, but if they were willing to loan him out I would be keen.

According to Sky Sports a number of Championship clubs are interested in signing Newcastle winger Ryan Fraser on loan next season.

Probably a bit out of our price range, but worth a punt?

Lewis Gibson was fantastic for me as a left-sided ball-playing CB in FM last season (on loan at Sheff Wed). Totally over-rated though as in reality he barely played and was almost constantly injured. Played more in his loan at Bristol Rovers this season but no idea how he played.

What about Jhon Durán on loan from Villa? Some suggestion that they might look to send him out on loan next season and if they are looking to acclimatise him to England they can't get much closer than us.

19 year old Colombian international, similar height to Vik, looks strong and pacy, also looks to cut in from the channels. Played a decent amount in the MLS but has been restricted to a few minutes here and there since joining Villa in January.

His brother Durans got a band named after him in Brum too so that’s handy

Might be a bit of a shithouse, also wages would be way above what we should be paying.

It’s the London Evening Standard so a good source

Coventry City are keen to sign Chelsea youngster Bashir Humphreys on loan. The defender is also attracting interest from across Europe, with the 20-year-old impressing during a loan spell at SC Paderborn last season. (Evening Standard)

Guaranteed we will sign none of the players people are mentioning here,

Just trying to engage people in a positive topic of signing players, whether we will sign any of the aforementioned players or anyone else remains to be seen.

The transfer window for me is like being a young kid at Christmas, allow me to dream.

Yes it’s good fun. What I was trying to say is, we have always signed players nobody really knows about or mentions. Hopefully some new gems to come.

Still don't think there will be any news today, hopefully there is though, let's start the transfer window with a bang

I’ve seen some hilarious stuff on Twitter with fans worried we’ve not done enough business already 😂 and King it seems is a Sisu puppet and hasn’t put his hand in his pocket for transfers… 😂

I know some people well over react, I'm just bored/excited, I do think Doug will invest in the squad as its needed, albeit not millions upon millions, enough to get the bodies in we need. The club don't usually announce majority of activity at start of July anyway when contracts start etc
