You’d be surprised. Road racing tends to be a family affair. Many of the current riders are second or third generation of road racers. The whole family go to meetings together and all those families are one big close friend group. Michael Dunlop who is currently second in the all time list at the TT has lost his uncle, father and brother in racing incidents on the road. The idea of giving up isn’t in his mentality, indeed he won his first race as a senior the day after his dad lost his life at the same event. It can be a cruel sport for sure and any deaths will be mourned but everyone involved understands what they’re getting into at the offset.
Well said. The world needs more characters like Robert and Joey. They were irreplaceable.

Shit. I've been right out of the loop for a while so missed the news about TS McPhee.
Great blues guitarist who could also turn his hand to almost any style.
I bought my first Hogs album just after it was released - Thank Christ for the Bomb. Absolutely love it, and have all their others too, mostly from release on vinyl.
Fuck it. Groundhogs session coming up 😭

Ted Kacszynski.

Strange fellow, but his manifesto is an interesting read.

Personally I saw him as a cowardly, cold-blooded killer who got precisely what he deserved.

There's a worrying rise in extreme libertarian and far right conspiracy theorists who think that violence is the way to propagate their views.

If the bloke wanted to live in the wilderness and write essays like Thoreau, he could have done it without killing innocent people. No great loss imho, ditto the bunga-bunga twat.

Actor Treat Williams. Motorbike accident.
Had a role in one of the greatest films ever made, Once upon a time in America.

Pretty good in most things, as I recall. Excellent in "Things to do in Denver when you're dead", if you like that sort of thing...

Never read any of his books but love the film adaptations of his books. The Road is a difficult watch though because of the subject matter, in many ways one of the scariest films I’ve ever watched.
Yeah agreed.

Absolutely loved No Country for Old Men and have only ever seen it once so think I’ll give it a watch again this weekend.
