Some are displaying the same tendency he did when SISU came in and stopped massaging his ego like Robinson etc had done.
Now it doesn't make the conclusion of owners being shitbags necessarily wrong, but the reasons for getting there and the conclusions drawn at the time were wrong because they came from that place, it was missing what the target should actually be.
I'm happy as GIMOC says to wait and see. I do have some concerns (Mark Goldberg is a name that keeps springing to mind!) but we can only wait and see as we've got no track record from King to compare to. The idle gossip is amusing though! Don't think it'd get Overson his favoured status back, either(!)

Yeah I’ve got concerns too. Mostly around how badly organised everything still seems to be and how we seem to be just as skint as ever. But a lot of the explicit complaints seem to be “X person thinks they’re much more special than they’re being treated” and frankly that doesn’t butter many parsnips with me.
Stuff like corporate sales and signings well see how it pans out.

The red flag for me was when he admitted he hadn't actually considered the stadium when agreeing to buy the club, so it ended up a bit of an afterthought.
That's worrying!
But we'll see how that (and other things!) all pans out. Lets hope it's all OK, eh(!)
And yeah I don't particularly care if Doris in Accounts doesn't like her new boss, as long as her new boss doesnt give her cause to sue for constructive dismissal.

We are psychologically against change if a new owner comes in the can’t make everyone happy especially those that had a cosy relationship with the previous owners.
If you’re a city fan then you’re a city fan-whether you can’t have the same influence because of your huge ‘charitable’ donations to the club or you can’t now afford the huge corporate price hike (which ACTUALLY prices tickets in line with what season ticket holders pay). You still support the city, go to the games etc

As for the negativity it’s all about raised expectations.
We don’t have a shit @ kit anymore so expectation and anticipation is high for a blinding new one and we want it now.
We aren’t in Division 2 anymore playing Mansfield and loaning division one journeymen because that’s all we can get. The expectation is to spend millions in that new striker to replace Gyo.
Anticipation of the new season is high because of how well we ended the last campaign irrespective of the loss at Wembley-supporters are now clearly invested in this journey (just look at record season ticket sales) and folks aren’t used to the old ways.
Most of us with long memories of the shit days are the ones with patience and although we have high expectations we know that ultimately it’s City innit. Nothing ever runs that smoothly-there always a drama! Just look at the beginning of last season!
So take a chill pill, relax-the kit will be here, so will the sponsors (like all of a sudden that matters) and we’ll have a decent squad by September and the close of the transfer window.

But with energy price rises and inflation around running the stadium and wanting exclusivity, we were always facing a big price hike on the shitshow Wasps were running.
It's no shock that a new regime has ruffled a few feathers. As you say time will tell?
But people agreed we were ran badly. But now it seems some people want nothing to change except for King to dig deep into his pockets and throw loads of money at players. For me that wouldn't be running the club properly either (example Bolton).
If he is over pricing he will learn and prices can come down (maybe not this season). But it seems previously we were giving too much away on the cheap.
I have been supporting the club over 50 years and in my opinion we have never really had good owners (few clubs do). Fans do have a right to complain about how the club is run and how club money is spent and how any debt is controlled and managed. But they don't have a right to dictate how an owner spends his own money.

In many ways us getting to the PO final and losing was the worst possible outcome for negotiations. The fact is the club will never have a workable deal at this level. The ground works in the Prem, nothing works in the Championship, a smaller ground would work in L1 and below.
If you’ve not got billions or some dodgy cash to launder then you really want out of this league asap or it’s just a money pit. The ground deal is but a small stone in that pit.
My best guess at the moment is as he is not a fan, and not looking to push us into the Prem with investment is that he’s an arrogant sod who thinks he can do the impossible and create a financially sustainable Championship club.

By all accounts King has come in and tried to run a football club like he does his oil business. That wont work, and isn't working. Yes Boddy and Tynan etc may be shit at their job, but they have a lot more of an idea on how to run a commercial side, a footballing side etc of the business than a bloke who never attended a game of football until Swansea in December.
King is a successful businessman, maybe his strong arm tactics and my way or the highway manner works in his specialised field. It doesn't work at a football club, especially one of our size. You cant just rock up out of nowhere, whack prices up for literally everything 200% plus, not listening to those with more experience and not expect backlash. T not have a shirt sponsor in play by July for a championship club who narrowly missed out on the prem is a farce lets be honest.
To think large corporations such as JLR, Peugeot whatever would think 'yea il spend 25k on a box for championship football at a club i have no attachment too' would happen is short sighted.
Frasers really aren't impressed by him by all accounts
To tell fans to 'join the journey' and we have in record numbers at higher prices, the play off couple of million, then not proceed to stick your hand in your pocket for even 1 signing before they return for pre season fitness testing tomorrow isn't great is it?
I've heard the exact same as what's been said on here, and it really isn't rosey behind the scenes as Doug just wants to micromanage the lot, whilst thinking he can charge loads for things that a championship club just cannot get away with.

I will say on pricing, it’s always better to start high and be able to offer deals on these sort of big ticket items than to price too low and sell out. Allows you to tailor to budgets and make people feel they’re getting a special deal. What matters is the revenue you come out with.

The corporate pricing is really worrying actually - his approach wouldn’t have given him a pass in a gcse for dummies in how to price
King has a very small business - ironically his margins are tiny as well due I assume to the competitive nature
He’s going to need millions a year to stand still which he doesn’t have so I would assume hedge fund loans will appear
Ironically - and I know I’m going to get pelters for this - he’d have been better keeping fisher for a few months as a sounding board on a consulting basis to smooth transition
The “I know a secret and I’m not telling” is the annoying thing and trying to get you to join the dots but king is not done red hot businessman and unless the hedge fund is loaning money we will have very little operating room

Agreed, and yes we do need to allow time, i just feel that those who are just shouting 'Bullshit' or calling him a liar etc need to just wind it in a bit.
This isn't just coming from Gimoc, myself, yourself, a couple of other posters on here are all being told the same, (mines from someone within the club) and that doesn't come about if all is ok does it?
For me it seems the crux of it is pretty simple. He needs to learn you cannot run a football club the same as a fucking oilseed company, let people get on with what they are experienced at, he should just deal with the Chief exec stuff, and listen to those who are trying to guide him more towards what should be done

Well we know we were in for Leighton Clarkson, who went to Aberdeen for a fee around £1-1.5m. It's not like he's refusing to buy players.
The reason I give King time is not because I don’t believe GIMOC or some of the rumours but because I look at the alternative as being far worse.
Under SISU we had a bottom 4 playing budget which Robins did miracles with. If that perpetuates then the chances are sooner or later we drop a division.
Under Sisu Ryton was hugely neglected. To the point we are told it put players off joining us.
Under Sisu player sales were not utilised to strengthen but simply to help pay the interest on loans they had made to the club !
Under SISU we never heard from them, they were faceless and avoided any scrutiny or accountability.
So yes maybe King is making errors, may be he will learn maybe he won’t but for god sake it’s not SISU and I believe that would be a whole load worse.
