“With players and staff returning to training on Monday on the new pitch at Ryton, preparations for the new season will shift up a gear.”

Robins seemed upbeat on Kells, certainly not a man about to walk. 15k season ticket holders, Kelly signed, new signing on the way, no obvious rift between manager and owner, over a month to go, today is another good day. Not even going to engage with those chatting shit hellbent on upsetting the status quo because some wannabe poundshop owner is upset.

I'm not sure fans are devided. Clearly are on here, but record season ticket sales say as a body fans are largely getting behind the club. This is precisely what I was getting at when I posted the thread. You"d think this message board would be representative of the Fan base as a whole. But I get an overwhelming feeling of negativity when reading. I've stopped following the news cause it's so depressing. As another mentioned previously....we could really do with a signing. Hope that new recruitment department pull their collective fingers out, or is that DKs fault?

That can’t be right - surely all the players are on holiday, don’t Birmingham know this?
Tyler Roberts
Koji Miyoshi
Krystian Bielik
Ethan Laird
Kevin Long

most of these are also perm transfers for bham with only a couple being loans from what I understand ..they are trying to do their best not to finish 18th again....

Us on the other hand:

Da Silva...

Yeh they've kind of hit the jackpot this time around, tbf they have had it crap with their dodgy owners for a while, but still they have always underachieved every season in terms of investment and squad value.

Seen a lot of predictions putting them in the bottom three, but they definitely have the potential to be on the up with a a combination of incomings, mass stadium repairs and new rich ownership...a real buzz going on there with their fans which...is frustrating to see as I'm regularly being told all about it.

How wealthy are the owners? They sound like a bunch of clowns to me.

Mate of mine who supports Birmingham won't shut up about their new rich owners and the multiple signings they've made already...it's going to be insufferable this season if we don't get someone decent in to calm my nerves! The likes of Boro, Sunderland and Birmingham will be licking their lips looking for revenge for last season, all of which have made decent moves already or who have kept their star players.
Always found the Brummies an arrogant bunch for a club that haven’t done much more in their history than us

I wouldn’t worry they big themselves up every summer and end up finishing lower mid table

Yeh they always big themselves up. Massively arrogant with absolutely nothing to back it up.

They are a hedge fund that have investments worth of ‘billions of pounds’ and they are too thick to understand that doesn’t equate to the bloke taking them over being a billionaire

I tried explaining that to one of them and got labelled bitter

Doesn't say anything other than the players being in training is more than them not being in training

Shift up a gear could mean anything

I’ve always been of the opinion signings will come in when the players and staff return for pre-season hence why I haven’t been partaking in the depression sessions on here

If you're going to quote Long then you need to put Kelly in ours as he has simply signed again after contract ran out.

Also, it's not even July until tomorrow.

Edit: Bielik also on loan last year and out of contract so FoC

Roberts is dreadful as well, Leeds fans were laughing that Brum even paid a fee for him - Bielik is a good player on his day but is also massively injury prone

Hardly the signings of billionaires are they. They also lost their most promising young player to Sunderland and Hannibal has gone back to Utd...

To be honest I don’t think Jobe was that good hence why they were happy to let him go, it’s a high bar obviously but he’s not anywhere near the player his brother is, Kelly absolutely bullied him last season

No not exactly ground breaking, just far more activity going on than us for sure right now. The Bellingham one is interesting but my understanding is that there were connections there that his family wanted him to go for.. Sunderland benefiting isn't a good thing either, they are another level of insufferable compared to Blues.

Sunderland’s director, Kristian Speakman is a family friend of the Bellinghams hence why he chose to go there

I think playing Championship football at 17 is pretty impressive tbf. Agree he's no Jude though.

Both fanbases are among my most hated tbf, and happily enough neither of them have beaten us for ages. The fact they hate it makes it even funnier.

We were robbed in that cup tie, but with what was coming around the corner and the way our season finished I think it’s a blessing in disguise we lost, we’d have took our eyes off the ball playing Leicester away in the cup
Doubt it - we were a juggernaught that season - by that time nobody was stopping us

An annihilation courtesy of Leicester could’ve blown a massive hole in team confidence. At the time I couldn’t get on board with the common desperation of playing them.
They were mostly excellent that season

Rodgers throwing away UCL football on the final day in consecutive season has set them back years, shame

Be serious. He’s like 6 years younger than Eccles and 2 years younger than Howley and playing regularly in the championship. He might not turn out to be his brother but he’s still some player.

This is far from a moan or being negative but In order to enjoy the season I am managing my expectations sensibly. Clubs like us are increasingly becoming priced out of competing at the top end of the table in the same way as a lot of Premier League teams. I’ll start with enjoying the games particularly some of the juicier fixtures, hope for some real exciting ding dong matches and set my default ambition of survival first 😀
