Hi, an Oxford United fan here in peace.

Our club is desperately trying to secure a new stadium site, or we’ll be homeless from 2026.

With that in mind, if anyone on here would be happy to fill in a short online questionnaire being run by Oxfordshire County Council, our fans would be massively grateful.

It only takes about five minutes or so to fill in the short online form with positive answers at [www.smartsurvey.co.uk] by 23 July 2023.

The benefits to you as away fans will be:
A sustainable stadium right next door to a major railway station in Oxford Parkway (a short train ride from Oxford City Centre) and opposite a large Park&Ride site, which would make it one of the easiest, greenest grounds to get to in the UK.
Proper drinking, food and entertainment options at the ground itself, compared to embarrassing facilities currently on offer at our current ground or nearby.
A modern, well-designed ground which will help to support a proper atmosphere, rather than the soulless, three-side ground we have now.
A few sentences on any of the above for the survey’s final comment box would be really helpful in showing our County Council that the new ground will be sustainable, increase spending in Oxfordshire, and provide excellent facilities for home AND away fans.

We all appreciate the value of a good away day, whether we’re potentially playing you in a league or cup game from 2026 onwards. Taking a few minutes to support a fellow club before it becomes homeless in just a few years would be massively appreciated. Thank you.”

Being homeless isn't so bad. You get to see nice places such as Northampton, and inner city Birmingham.

Brakes would have been the better site. Not much room in the triangle. It will be just down the road from me when I can’t get to watch the City.

I loved it too, my lad always rolls his eyes when I talk about it! But he did buy me a print of it to hang in my shed. He also thinks the Kassam is a shithole!

The land is part of Cherwell Council, they are the planning authority. Unfortunately there is no majority at CDC, which could be a problem.. But thank you so much for your support

My grandson played in an under 14 final at the County Ground a few weeks ago....Jeez what a shit hole.

Made him have a hot disinfectant bath for 2 hours to rid himself of the filth of the place.

I’m sure original poster can educate me if I’m wrong but I believe Firoz Kassam (Ox old owner) still owns the ground and is refusing to negotiate a new lease with the club

For what it’s worth I absolutely loathe that ground and if they can get a new stadium they’d be much better off

Always found Oxford a decent bunch and were very gracious in defeat after the Checkatrade game so good luck to them

Cheers Cstring, thank you so much! Kassam refused to extend the licence.. at ine point the tea weren't allowed in until 12.00 on match days. althougth the away team was allowed in at 8.30! Anyway its a shithole, I go to more away games than home tbh...

Cheers Alex, thanks so much! You have to remember that day was only our 3rd trip to wembley!The turnout from both sets of fans was brilliant add those sort of days are important to fire the excitement of young fans. A mate of mine brought his lad down from Liverpool. That "lad" now runs a 6 a side team in Liverpool who play in yellow!

Always lots of free parking around the complex, just a balls-ache to get out afterwards. One very important point - DON'T change the pie supplier, best I've had.

Agreed I had a laugh with a couple after the game - told them they’d won the boat race on the same day.

hope they sort it out, what Kassam has done is proper snakey, also my only memory of the Kassam is that 4-0 defeat when we got relegated

Must have been a different City fan, mine was entirely down to over-enthusiasm rather than the opposite. If I hadn’t stopped her I’d have been taking it home in a ziploc bag.

“Just giving this a bump as it is now one week until the Survey closes on 23 July.
