Underrated striker, he's got a very respectable record for us, especially as he was asked to play second fiddle to the swede, for the last 18 months. He's missed a few games, but some of those were for appendicitis which won't happen again.
I'm glad he's still here.

He’s a great goal scorer, but like Kelly and others you won’t get a season out of him, we never have.

Harsh. All strikers miss chances and although he should have made the keeper work it was a half chance. His goal v Watford gave us the platform to get to Wembley and was goal of the season for me.

It is harsh but it was a terrible hack at the ball when he had a bit more time than he realised and needed a controlled first touch.
When it comes off he can be clinical bit actually Godden is a player who only contributes goal chances (that’s his game not a criticism), and there were many, many games last season when he failed to justify selection as he wasn’t involved.

In all competitions he’s never managed more than 33 appearances a season since joining us and for the first 2 in this league never more than 25 - he’s a decent backup option though.
I much prefer a forward with Godden's goalscoring ability, but who misses some matches, than a Waghorn type player even if they were available every week.

It'll be interesting to see whether Gidden does better next season with Gyokeres gone. I never really subscribed to the theory that they couldn't play together but maybe Gyokeres ' departure will help Godden.

Yes brilliant, because if Godden isnt fit we would be playing Tavares from the start.

Other thing is with 9 subs you probably want two strikers on the bench.
The 9 subs thing isn't that important and I imagine for a lot of teams 2 or 3 of the players will be kids or players that have no real prospect of coming on. Surely no decent manager is going to go into a match undecided on the best options on the bench and ready to play any of the nine.

I quite enjoyed when the young kid on the second row began celebrating Watford's goal on 50 seconds. Bit harsh of the bloke behind to shove her back down.

Id want two types of striker just for options depending on how the game is going.

It allows you to have a whole side bar two basically. Silly not to have options, no one is picking five then autoselecting the rest like FM.

I think Godden is at his best when CoH plays - I can't remember who it was against but there was a goal against Derby that was sensational.

Agreed. Godden is at his best when he's in or around the box and not having to do a whole lot of work off the ball apart from making space for himself. O'Hare just makes life considerably easier for whoever is in attack.

I’d worry about relying on Godden who we only ever seem to get about 20 games a season out of. If we’re playing two up I’d want two more in after Simms.
I agree but worth saying that we have just had Godden's longest run without injury since he joined the club

People digging him out over the Wembley miss must have a bias, no?

No other striker we have would've been capable of getting that shot in.

Lightning quick thinking and execution that missed by an inch or two.

If we sigh Simms I think we will be playing 2 up front next season. Godden is probably more suited to playing in a partnership with Simms than he was with Gyokores and will probably score more as a result. If are to regularly play 2 up front though we need more depth so signing at least one more forward is a necessity and a certainty.

Let's hope so then we're pushing for the automatics...

I reckon a fully fit squad means Palmer and O’hare start. One up top.
If we regularly play with 2 strikers we’ll need to sign 2 more.
