No transfer to KAA Gent or KRC Genk for Tatsuhiro Sakamoto , but to England. The flank attacker leaves KV Oostende and goes to work at Coventry

Het Nieuwsblad comes out with that news . The Japanese flank attacker has been linked to Ghent and Genk in recent weeks, who had to pay about two million euros to bring Sakamoto into their home. However, both teams did not want to go that far, so that Coventry City could bring the Japanese in.

The 26-year-old Sakamoto played 32 times for the Coastal Team last season. The flank attacker was good for seven assists. KVO sees another important pawn leave. Earlier, Guillaume Hubert, Nick Bätzner, Cameron McGeehan, Brecht Capon and Osaze Urhoghide also left the team.

He’s a quick left-footed winger who can play on either flank - Robins change of formation incoming?

Looks like he has played mostly on the flanks, but plenty of games at AM too.

With O'Hare being out for a while yet (and not knowing how well he will return) I guess it makes sense to sign another AM.

Finally we are taking advantage of some far eastern players. So proper ballers in the J leagues. Its an absolute crazy leagues mind you

One day you can be playing at a huge stadium in Tokyo next you can play infront of like 4k max fans in the middle of rural Japan

Looks like a very skillful dribbler who also loves to press opposition defenders. We've found a left-footed O'Hare.

EDIT: Was player of the season for Oostende, and was wanted by two of the biggest teams in the Belgian league.

On another note does this mean those who thought we were waiting on the Gyok deal being completed were right and even more unbelievable does it also mean that GIMOC and others were talking out their combined arses?
Crazy ……😂😂

Always felt we needed an important pawn

Robins did say at the tail end of last season that we were looking at some really good players (regardless of playoff outcome).

Signing Simms for [up to] £8m and this guy for €2m and potentially McNally on a permanent… What is going on?!

Coventry City splashing the cash? Never in my lifetime.

It’s the Brighton and Brentford model . Sign low cost players with potential with a view to big future sales
