I've heard - and I usually don't get passed any information from anyone - that he's looking for reassurance that he'll get game time. That's at all clubs he's meeting with. So I guess it depends on what formation Robins has in mind - 1 or 2 up top - and whether Swansea are selling Piroe.

Provided we aren't signing Sharp.
Sharpe is an insurance signing mainly for the bench apart from him and with this now Godden rumour I think we will sign another two strikers, could be a loan, will be a few premier players up for grabs loan wise once their squads have been released.

Ventes goal scoring looks even more impressive last season when you look at how many (few) his team scored. Wasn't far off scoring half of their goals.

Robins had a pretty mixed record with strikers didn't he? Sparky and Godden were the successes but nothing else really until Vik
Not at all. He’s managed McGoldrick, Leon Clarke, McNulty, Godden and Vik. With the exception of Wilson, he’s managed our best performing strikers post-premiership.

Chaplin was sold for a profit despite not really living up to expectation. We’ve only really messed up buying Waghorn and not getting the most from Walker and JCH.

Out of how many though? There's 4 strikers in the squad every season.

That's true, I was thinking in the current spell...

His record with strikers is considerably better than pretty much everyone who came before him. When you’re saying his failures were: our top scorer first season up and two lads who just finished top two scorers in L1, it’s not that bad.

No team has 4 star strikers in their team for obvious reasons.

One thing that gets lost on a lot of people on here is the intended use of players. Were the likes of Biamou and Bakayoko supposed to be key players when we signed them? No, both were players signed to be developed. Even so, they played decent supporting roles in our promotion seasons.

Robins will be most disappointed with JCH and Walker. Other than that, the record has been v good. You don’t go from relegation to L2 to being within a penalty shootout win in the Championship playoff finals having a ‘mixed’ record.

I thought there was something with Chaplin. I think he was a confidence player though, when he missed a couple it just dipped. Best move all around when he was moved on
We sold Chaplin to a team in a higher division and made a profit. He didn’t reach the same heights with us as he did with Ipswich, but the signing can hardly be considered a failure.

Probably a good time to show him while its empty, if he saw the creatures that populate it every other week he'd run a mile.

At least he'll get a sense of how loud it is every week.

He is clueless anyway.
I watched one of those Facebook live things he does once a few years back, i asked one question, this is the only question i have ever asked Turner... "Do you think the club is likely to offer Michael Rose a new contract, i feel its something that they need to tie down asap." Turners response was that he didn't think it was a priority.
Anyway, later on in the SAME DAY, Michael Rose signed a new contract...

We sold Gary Borrowdale for a profit - didn’t make him a success

I didn’t necessarily say Chaplin was a failure totally for us, I said that there was obviously a player there, his confidence dropped and his finishing didn’t work - him moving on was a good decision for all parties - himself included
