Hardly.
think one criticism of the song has been that it is a bit 'jingly jangly' and repetitive. The repetitiveness was deliberate just to get the song out there for an instant impact. It wouldn't be as repetitive at all when done properly.
The sound I am not too happy with either. Was aiming for The Ramones with a fuzz guitar sound, but it came out rather crappy 70's synthy.
Did the whole thing on quite a cheap keyboard. Used to play guitar but had that nicked so have tried to get guitar sounds from the keyboard. It's fine for strings and piano, but not so good on harder sounds, so it's nowhere near where I would ideally like it to be, but it was just a case of getting it out into the public domain.
Want to do it again properly and there is another bit to the song too which will make it even less repetitive.
As I say, the object was just to get it into people's consciousness and I was also trying to create something that could be sung from the terraces. If people can recall the old days when one group of fans who would chant 'Rangers' while another would chant 'Celtic' in response, then that was what I was trying to achieve. One bank of supporters chanting "We're Sky, We're Blue, We're City through and through," with another bank coming in with "Sky" and "Blue" in response.
We certainly do need more songs from the stands for sure, cos it is all getting a little stale.
