Hamer (24 Viewers)

Seems to be more convoluted than I was told. Yunus Musah is signing for AC but Fulham were after him. They may now be in for Hamer seriously as their second choice. That makes more sense.
Oh ok, well Fulham can fuck off.

From that team talk: the players being Luke mcnally and Thomas

They are so far offering around £8million plus the players in question, but Coventry are holding out for a £15million transfer fee instead.

My take on that (assuming Gus won't sign) is although we might push for a bit more cash (as I don't know about Thomas) getting £8m plus 2 decent players is not bad business (but I suppose it begs the question, are McNally and Thomas worth £7m, if DK thinks we can get £15m for Gus? I would go for £12m plus McNally, though.
That's basically a bid of £12M if you assume McNally is worth £3m and other chap £1m. Not enough!

I think each offers something different from the other. Massively disagree with the statement that they're not "in the same ball park". Hamer's season just gone was better than any single season of O'Hare's, I'll give you that.
Better than all his seasons put together! Lol what planet you on. One cant hit hit a barn door from 1 yard out.

If they want more than £3M for McNally they can do one. He’s not worth more than Simms.
Yeh would love him back but we shouldn't go mad with it, I'm sure we have other decent options lined up.

Think Gus will go. I personally think on his day he is the best midfielder in the Championship, and unfortunately, it will be very difficult to keep him. Need to get the best deal possible. Would love McNally back, don't know anything about Thomas.

£3M plus would be nuts for McNally. Hes good but only ever played 5 months in the championship for us.

When you think hiw much we got the guy from Swansea for.

They will obviously value him as high as they can. I suppose it comes down to how much they want Hamer?

well they paid £2m for him and I’d guess there’s a sell on clause.

Difference being is Joel L was out of contract and it was compensation where as McNally has at least two years and experience of playing well.
They’ll be after 4million I reckon for him.

If there's a sell on clause, they'll want to value him lower? Too complicated for my brain at this time of the evening!

Wasn’t there some argument about that when two were sold together once to a club?

Think its horrendous losing Hamer, the team revolves around him.
If he goes, very likely sadly what makes you think we will get 2-4 good players in ?
Not feeling it at all .

It’s never a good time to lose your best players, but it’s part and parcel of football. What matters is that you replace them with good players. For example, Brentford lost Watkins and Benrahma in the same window and replaced Watkins with Ivan Toney.

We replaced Gyokeres before he left. Ellis Simms had some comparable stats to Gyokeres in his loan spell at Sunderland so it’s about as good a replacement we could get.

Our business is not concluded, but the signs is we’re generally improving our squad from last year. Younger players on longer contracts are positive signs. We will probably not have the same ‘star quality’ but we need a good season or two to build a squad that can compete to get promoted anyway.

Honestly, I feel like we would’ve struggled to get £10m at the start of the window so if we can get £15m and/or 1-2 players as part of that deal (for slightly less), is actually very good value that’ll help us build for the longer term.

Yes, vaguely remember a club being annoyed at a clearly rigged value, thus missing out on a fair sell on amount.
I think we last did it with Butterworth and Pearce :(

I am a bit stoned, and I still don't understand what you're saying to me. I can't tell if you're telling me something, or you misread what I wrote. Cool that you're knocking one our best players while he recovers from a horrible injury, though Lol.

Getting to the stage where we should be giving Gus an ultimatum. Hate to see him go but we must control the situation.

that’s how it sounds to me. Robins said we know where we stand and gus knows where he stands. Sounds a bit of a stand off to me. That will have to end one way or the other. Gus can’t really lose. He either stays on a better contract or gets a premier league move. We can’t really lose as either he stays or we get around 10-15m for him.
