Thomas
Awe
Kitching
Mcnally

Wasn't Whatmough one too? Could be pretty good value actually if Burnley are pricing us out of McNally.

With 9 subs now we’d be foolish not to tap into the loan market as well as make some permanent acquisitions
Parent clubs are going to insist that our loan players are actually getting on the pitch - we shouldn't be loaning players just to make up the numbers.

Wilson-Esbrand didn’t get a lot of game time , some of the bigger clubs have such big squads they are happy to send out players

Charlie Patino on our radar apparently for a permanently move.

I think I remember reading that he/his dad want him away from Arsenal so he can develop playing first team football.

He would not be cheap tho, if we get him we would have to sell Gus.

Yes, and it cost us. Nothing against the guy, but it reached a point last season where it looked like we were throwing him on when we didn't really want/need to because we'd have to fork out wages to Man City if he stayed on the bench.

Any proper talent isn't going to be sent out on loan without getting assurances that they'll get decent game time.

That was my point it didn’t seem like Man City were arsed if he played or not

Was linked. Be a good signing he’s a younger version of McFadzeen but now with Roberts and Joel L signed up I’d think the priority is now a left sided CB.

If we got say this Awe as well as a LCB to go with Thomas at RCB that would be great, all positions covered

Doubt Awe would come in as a starter. He's only played 6 professional matches and they're all EFL Trophy. I think he'll be brought in as one for the future. I'd trust Robins and co to get the best out of him though.

I couldn't agree more. As I said in another thread they also bring higher quality in most cases. Usually they stand out and it's not surprising considering they have trained with better players. Also as with players like Gyokeres, O'Hare and Sheaf sometimes we get the opportunity to sign them permanently.

Sheaf doesn't really count as a "loan" as it was with an obligation to buy if we stayed up. We couldn't afford to sign him yet as we'd already signed Hamer & Walker that summer. Doesn't fall into the same bracket as Gyok and O'Hare at all (not trying to attack you but seen him added to this argument multiple times).

I'd actually prefer loaning the Callum Doyle's of this world (top prospect who we have no chance of signing unless we're promoted) than the Leo Ostigard's (a summer-long transfer saga just to watch them go to a better placed team).

We should be signing the latter permanently this summer before we increase their value.

To double down...

O'Hare only signed because we got promoted and would not have signed if we hadn't.

So Gyok is the only instance of turning a loan into a purchase while in the same league and that is because he had just had 2 underwhelming loan spells in this league.

The idea that we should get loans that we can sign permanently after is stupid because if they're successful they see the next step on the ladder rather than staying still with us.

Milan van Ewijk as well

Played a half yesterday and was interviewed at the game. He remarked he will miss his team mates and although would stay in Holland, he has always wanted to go abroad. Picking the place if he goes is all about playing time. We were named as one of the interested clubs and it sounded like a decision is ready to be made on his future.

Sheaf was still here on loan. O’Hare was still here on loan. There was no Ostigard transfer saga

I'm hearing he will be joining City but i personally don't think he will be part of the 1st team just yet and be around the fringes next season to continue development etc.

I think we need an experienced head still as Fadz wont play more than half the games next season.

Thats kind of what I thought he would be , and again it follows the recruitment policy of the last few seasons . Sign a few ready made players and gamble on a couple with potential that can be sold on for profit at a later date
