NGL If had the choice I'd rather have Godden and Simms upfront with a specialised RWB than Sakamoto at RWB with Simms and a new striker up top.

Sakamoto and Burroughs are both specialised RWBs. Fact is Godden wasn’t really first choice last year and tends to not impact games when he is involved. We’ve only got one AM so can’t play the box anyway.

I'd suggest they are more naturalised RWB's and have ended up playing their due to reasons outside it being their natural position.

Not sure about that. Burroughs Dad says he’s a wingback and Sakamoto has played wide midfield his whole career pretty much.

What formation did those teams play? I'd suggest Wide midfield in a 442 is different to wing back in a 352.

We play 3412, look at the game videos it’s Hamer and Sheaf sitting in front of a back three, Sakamoto and Dasilva ahead of them on the wings in a wide midfield position and Palmer behind a front two.

Not sure about all the teams but Sakamoto’s last team played wingbacks IIRC.

This may change when he partners someone who's happy to have a strike partner instead of someone who wanted to do it all by himself.

Are they both specialist wing backs???

At home I think we could risk Tats as a RWB but not away at Leicester on the opening day.

I’m sure Robins will have secured a specialist RWB ahead of that match but whether it will be too early for them to start I guess depends on which league we sign then from.

Joel could play RWB in the interim if we sign a left footed centre hand this week but again it depends on which league he comes from.

Robins is a risk adverse manager so at this stage I think last nights back 5 plus Wilson probably starts against Leicester.

who knows what the Hamer situation will be by then but If he stays I think the big decision is whether Robins swaps Palmer for the extra security of Kelly.

I think he will use Tats at Leicester as an impact sub.

I'm guessing this new keeper is gonna be decent? With the class of outfield players we've signed - I'd expect him to be a massive improvement on current personal.

You would hope so. Barnsley fans seem to rate him so we will wait and see. If anything we know he will be an upgrade with his distribution, not hard though with Wilson's.

He spends a lot of time at centre half from the early impressions!

I can't see Fadz being left out at this stage - his experience is vital, as most of the other defenders are still relatively young and new to the club. I think Fadz and Wilson will start the first few games at least, just to have a relatively experienced and consistent spine to the team.
