Saw the first ep. I couldn't help but thinking that it will be to Rodgers career what the other docs were to Taylor and Reid? Massive OG. Enjoyable viewing, though!
It certainly didn't do much for Phil Neal's career!

Yea I can sort of understand Mcdonald to an extent as Robins has a system he wants to play and Mcgoldrick is deservedly ahead of Mcdonald at the moment, we could change formation to accommodate both but that is a different issue.
I am also concerned about the CB partnership an that he has picked Sheff for all his games

What's worrying is that players have come and gone yet the cycle remains. Lets hope Robins is the man who breaks the pattern. He certainly seems more astute and less one-dimensional than Aidy "you must play 15 first team games before you allowed to change with the first team" Boothroyd!
To be fair it's easy for a new manager to "tell it how it is". If he says we are cr@p it just means that "I have inherited a poor team from the previous manager so don't blame me." I will be more impressed if he is still "telling it how it is" in six months time.
From my reading of Robins' interviews I am thinking we may have a manager to stop the slide. I liked the fact that in the Oldham report he saw that 4-5-1 wasn't doing the job and changed formation: do we have a manager who knows what he's doing? Plus in these early stages he can tell people how bad things are.
That left Mark Robbins -#2. Even SISU didn't consider him the best for the job, and there is no difference in the team's performance.
You could argue shaw got more out of the team because under him they beat a team in a higher league!
Cov bt Oldham - one of the few teams as poor as coventry. 3 games, 2 excessively poor performances and one satisfactory one. How is #2 any better than shaw?
SISU totally messed up the selection process by making a short list that included someone who everyone knew wouldn't get then job and another who was not prepared to take the job for what SISU were offering.

#2 has brought in 4 players since joining - despite saying that the team had quality throughout, and going on record as saying he did his homework before taking the job.
From what I've seen, he certainly doesn't inspire me with confidence. For me he is definitely the wrong man for the task. Hopefully I will be proven wrong, and he totally transforms the team, but I have seen absolutely no evidence that he has the ability to do that.
SISU's operation blue square seems on track still

The usual knee jerk reactions I see. We were shit, Oldham were shitter, one swallow and all that. I'm happy with the win but the team selection was appalling, the centre backs atrocious, Sheffers his usual ineffective plodder, Robins says they were shit.........big deal, he's proved nothing yet !!
It doesn't matter how bad we played
Clearly you and I differ greatly about what acceptable standards are appropriate for a team from the Championship.
Whilst not expecting to be in the top 6, languishing within the relegation zone and giving that kind of performance for a new manager (when players usually buck up their ideas) does matter.
It matters a great deal.

whata bout your mate fleck who is rubbish despite his great cameos vs yeovil and oldham?
On what grounds is he rubbish?
He's got 2 assists with barely any game time...
(If your comment is sarcastic I take that back)

my issue is mopre with you saying other loanees that you have not seen WILL BE GREAT
An ill informed knee jerk opinion which was made after very little football for FleckThe crime of having an opinion. I am guilty ma lud.
And I now feel a restraining order is needed as how do you know what I have and haven't seen.
An ill informed knee jerk opinion which was made after very little football for Fleck
it was sarcasm but its to someone who really called fleck rubbish
I assume you're talking to me?
As I stated before he did okay at Yeovil (lets not go mad) and since he came back from his few games off injured (not an entire season) he has been poor. I said prior to Saturday, and I quote " I'm not saying Fleck can't get better but if he doesn't play well I'm not going say he's great" and at Oldham he improved the situation but again the game was that bad my dead for 30 years gran could have breathed more life into the game that what was on display. So he did okay and deserves another chance. I'm not saying he is now the best player ever nor the worst. Only time will tell how good he is but if you want to say he's great even if he 's not then that's up to you.
How is saying someone was poor who played poorly an ill informed reaction?
If he plays well or poorly tomorrow (if he plays) then I will say what I see Roy, I'll say what I see.
Yes and it was poor. So as I said he is poor at present meaning he could get better. But I can't say he's good after one and half poor games and to be honest I don't think he will be good but again that's my opinion and I wait for him to change my mind.
