Maatsen scored 2 for Chelsea v Wrexham last night, got played up top on the left wing. Pochettino sounded impressed so will be interesting to see what happens with him, still can't see him breaking into the first team. Might be one of the back ups for Chillwell at best.

West Ham have been linked with him if Cresswell goes to Wolves

With the rumours of 350k a week tax free in wages, I don't blame him...........
700k a week and all tax free - as long as he stays out of the country for a couple of years.

From the Torygraph:-

With stars such as Jordan Henderson offered deals thought to be worth £700,000 per week tax-free in the Saudi Pro League, seeing the full amount will rely on remaining in the Middle East for almost two years.

Those leaving the UK to work abroad must remain out of the country for a full tax year or pay 45 per cent on their earnings if they return before. It means the players joining the Saudi Pro League now must stay there until April 2025.

Ultimately they finished in the bottom half of the table last season, you'd argue that he should be as close as anybody really

I presume Southgate won't be picking him for England anymore then!!

@CovLad94 mentioned it yesterday but Romano has tweeted the confirmation today.

Waghorn came on as a second half sub in Derbys 3-0 win over Stoke yesterday. Rose played the last 20 mins for Stoke.

It was a testimonial, Waghorn was one of a few ex players turning out for Derby.

Bit embarrassing for Stoke if they put out a full strength team!

That makes sense about Waghorn. Stoke had their first team playing with first games for Rose, Ben Pearson and Daniel Johnson.

The players we released seem to struggling to get clubs.

Some will get snapped up as the transfer market speeds up. There are a few players which have left that may struggle however.

If it is true Dabo is failing medicals then that's pretty shocking on our behalf that we were giving minutes to someone not fit enough.

Thats not how medicals work, it's not about being fit.

Its about the risk of injury across the length of a contract - if he has a degenerative hip condition, then a team isn't likely to offer him a multi year contract for fear of him not playing through the tail of it.

Its a risk management process for clubs. There's a twitter clip that does the rounds every now and then of the old arsenal doctor/physio talking through the Overmars transfer.

They knew he had bad knees, that they would get x amount of good years from him - so they sold him after that knowing he was likely to start degrading.

How many times was he on the pitch when he couldn't even walk?

This degenerative condition is obviously impacting him now, regardless of any 'club medical procedure'.

Some of our fans get extremely sensitive about Dabo. It's a bit boring and usually the same people doing it. He was nowhere near good enough for the best part of two years, and clearly had something wrong with him, yet still got minutes. That isn't right. If another team has turned him down, then that just adds weight to the questions around why he was allowed to play for us so recently.

I wish him well, and that's despite missing the penalty which is hard to take, but these are valid points.

I've not even defended him, he didn't have a future with us on ability.

Nobody knows whether there is an issue, nobody knows if he failed a medical etc - yet you've now projected that he wasn't fit enough and shouldn't have been on the pitch based on rumour.

I just pointed out that regardless of whether it's true or not, that a medical isn't to assess ability - its a risk management exercise.

Projecting based on rumour? Give me a break. As per the post above, there were several games when he could barely walk.

Are you trolling? Or just an idiot?

Continue to throw the insults if you want, I think it is a pretty widely shared viewpoint that many games he has played in recent seasons, he has looked to be struggling and not moving well at all. Games he has played well in are not in abundance either.

No insult, is was a question. But just to be clear, you think that in the biggest game in our recent t history, Mark and Adi chose to put a player on the pitch who couldn't move?
