Who can replace him? (1 Viewer)

I was thinking loan rather than permanent signings. 30m for Doyle does indicate how difficult replacing Hamer will be if we end up selling him at a cut price fee.

People saying sell Hamer and bring in 2-3 players , well that’s all good and well but we can only replace Gus on the pitch with one player . Great for depth I agree but who the fuck is out there that could do what he does week in week out? And if there was a like for like or as near as dam it they’re already playing for someone
This has been explained to you as well. You improve the team as a whole, 2 or 3 players who are better than we makes the side better.

If he’s such a God like figure why are the only clubs rumoured to be after him Luton leeds and Leicester?

Rathbone from Rotherham is a tidy footballer , works hard covers the yards and valued at around 1.5 million .. year left on contract 26 years old

He's a fantastic footballer grendel let's be honest .. but we will be OK

The guy I was replying to said he’s the best player in 50 years and we should retire the shirt yet for whatever reason no one seems to be offering anything like these figures

So Leicester,Leeds have been relegated to the same league as us and Luton will more than likely come straight back down . All the big clubs in the premiership shop at Harrods. Leeds and Leicester have the parachute payment and Luton have hit the jackpot with regards to income . But the latter is not a fashionable club and possibly favourites to come back down .
Plus if what we’re hearing he just wants to move back to Holland then there’s no chance he will sign for anyone in the UK .

No club in Holland wiukd meet his wage demands and that looks very unlikely

Wolves offered £22m for a Bristol player - you think they’d have a look at hamer as the offer was turned down.

Replacing his set pieces will be another factor to consider in a replacement

Hamer being good at set pieces is a myth. Whens the last time he scored a direct free kick? We score about 1 in in every 70 corners he takes aswell

He's a phenomenal player, one of if not the best since the prem days, but his set piece attributes arent something id be worried about replacing. In fact it may be his only real weakness

I think we've only scored two since he's been at the club, once Matty James at Bournemouth and the other Kasey Palmer against Mickey Mouse FC

There clearly isn’t a bidding war as leaks of transfers get stoked by parties with a vested interest

From what I understand it appears he has been offered a much higher salary by someone through his agent, hence rejecting our contract offer. It is not in Hamer & his agent's interest to start a bidding war as the lower the transfer fee the better deal he can probably command, so I don't think they will stoke anything other than to play on him being unsettled, and therefore possibly sitting tight so he can leave on a free if we don't play ball, much as Vik's agent did before his deal was finalised.

CCFC are the ones that need a bidding war, but until the last week the club were still probably holding out some hope of him re-signing, hence we haven't really been pushing that agenda. This has got someway to go before the final outcome is resolved.

I’m not sure how I can reply to this 🤦‍♂️

You keep claiming this is the best player we’ve had in half a century - better than Wallace, Dublin, Keane, Hutchison etc

Yet there is no one banging on the door? You say the premier league shop at Harrods - well hamer is Fortnum and Mason isn’t he?

I think you said you’d heard about going to Holland. Whose buying him there?

We did score from a corner of his yesterday tbf...

I agree he's not the best but we still need someone who can actually whip a set piece - Palmer is the only one I can think of who could take over?

Totally different player and totally different times , the game has moved on .
I’ve been watching the city ( ST) since I was 9 ( 52 ) years and yes he’s very special . As for who will buy him in Holland I have no idea I’m not ITK .
As for offers from clubs in the UK , I’m sure if he wants to return to Holland he’s told his agent not to push it here , there’s no point , hence no interest.

Robins says there has been interest here. Pretty common knowledge there’s been one offer it seems - robins said he’s been tempted by extra money

He wants the biggest salary and that’s here - no one in Holland wants him or alternatively could afford his demands.
Let’s just sit back and see this play out. Me personally. I think DK will cut him loose in 12 months . He’s a free agent then with no one pushing him to sign for anyone .. I don’t think he wants to stay here , it’s more personal which I understand. I might be wrong but if he and his agent know it’s a big payday .

If he goes I’d want us to reinvest in a midfielder that can take his place and another young’un for depth. Adem Zorgane and Louie Sibley are my shouts.
