That approach from Robins is why we no longer have players in our team with an attitude problem. Since he’s been manager anyone who didn’t look as though they wanted to play for us, and looked like they wasn’t giving their all have been sent packing.

Now I’m not suggesting for a second that Gus had an attitude problem, quite the opposite in fact. But if deep down he didn’t want to be here anymore then the best thing for all concerned is for him to be sold

We don't have access to anywhere near enough data to highlight a possible replacement for him - but I think the three biggest areas that we need to cover are:

Work rate
Direct passing
Interceptions

We need to find a player who covers the ground that he did, isn't afraid to risk through balls and has the ability to spot players, and someone who reads the game in defence well enough to break up attacks.

I'm not as worried about replacing the goals, they're a bonus, I want us to replace the dynamism and ambition that he provided.

Its his chance creation. Even befor when came to us his key pass stats were ridiculous. If we want to keep playing how we are we need someone with that vision and technical ability.

Crucial would be the end of the January window. He wasn’t blindsiding the manager, as soon as the player came in with a destination we needed to sell him quick in order to use the proceeds quickly too.

Blame Hamer for the timing if you must blame anyone.

I reckon £4-5m on a CM, £3-4m on a CB, then a loan AM/ST and £1-2m on a backup/prospect CM.
