Transfer Rumour Callum Styles (6 Viewers)

Styles fits the bill can play several positions too, has played Wing Back for both club and Country I think, primarily a Central Midfielder, would suit our style to a tee. Would be a shrewd signing imo

He was probably Barnsleys most highly rated player during the season they, very unexpectedly, got to the play offs. He was doing this at about 20 years old. He's still highly thought of and plays for Hungary who are no mugs. 2 million would actually be a steal.

Listen to us talking about £2m transfers Willy nilly, who’d have thought… look at us

Let's just not bring in players for the sake of it. They need to be better than what we got. That's all I'm saying.

We have some money to spend now let's push the boat out. A statement signing. Plus one or 2 for squad depth.

We have shown we dont need to shop in Primark.

Even a charity shop has bargains and unearthed treasures occasionally. Look in Harrods, by all means, but don't dismiss British Heart Foundation !

Damn, Clint was right. I could have been a message writer for a celebration card company :ROFLMAO:

Is he better than what we got? Eccles has been superb and better than last season so far.

For me I'd be looking at players that are better than what we got. Theres a reason hes £2M. I'd be looking at next level above £5M plus player.

And I'm not saying this lad isnt good.
We have very little cover for Eccles or Sheaf though. Kelly isn't a long term answer, Allen could be out for a while yet, Palmer is made of glass, and who knows what O'hare will be like when he returns.

Another way of looking at it: maybe Bidwell wants to go and be first choice somewhere and this gives us a good (probably starting standard at present) CM whilst also giving cover at LWB?

I’d really like this one to come to fruition, hopefully alongside another CM.

Isn’t many CMs I’d fancy us taking in the EFL but this one would be good

A double hit on Barnsley for Kitching and Styles for a round £6m to tempt them would be a great bit of business in my eyes. Fills 2 roles with solid, dependable players and still leaves more than half the Hamer money to divert to the extras we could use.

£5m on rumoured international enforcer
£2m on Styles
£3-4m on Kitching
Loan AM/ST/AML from the Prem

By my count that still leave a couple of million for Jan just in case.

Not sure we want him do we? Even at 2 million.

Good shout tbf. Bidwell has never settled for second choice in his career so far.

Who is the "rumoured international enforcer" or do we not know yet? (I realise I'm setting myself up here for some ridiculous suggestions)

Reminds me of when Brian Clough stole 2
of our players in 1 swoop (Ian Butterworth and Stuart Pearce) for Forest.
