We charged them £34 last season.
As for Leicester, they did charge us
£35, they are one of the most expensive in the league and yet still cheaper than us, but they also charged only £7 for youngsters. So £42 for Leicester against the £62 we are charging for parent and young child for Sunderland.
BTW, next week Hull City tickets will be announced. £20-£24 for adults and £3 for under 11s. And that's not a low category, they charge that to everyone.
Well it is having a material impact on home sales, we're hardly selling any.

We sold 22.5k for the Boro game and on course to sell the same again for Sunderland.
When was the last time we had that many home fans two games in a row for regular league games?

It is pretty mental that the PL has price caps, when clubs don't really need the ticket money compared to the EFL. You'd think some revenue could be used from PL to offset EFL tickets to introduce a price cap.

Took my kids to Birmingham FC for a Saturday afternoon Championship game some years ago only to find there was not a penny reduction for kids when we got to the turnstile. No choice but to cough up.
Also, paid over £30 to see us play away at Piswich maybe 15 years ago. That was one huge ripoff...

Forget 19,000 of those, we're in for the season.
We have around 11000 tickets to sell game by game. So far, for next week, between us and Sunderland we've sold about 3000 total. This price is clearly impacting on this so it needs to be reviewed. It was a real opportunity this season to fill the place and attract new supporters or turn more casuals into regulars. Charging kids £25 ain't going to achieve that.

There's a few issues.
Looks like being a train strike. Adult prices more than seeing a Prem game away. But yes kids prices a bit too much. Add this to going somewhere where they can't remember what it's like to win
Match ticket prices for an away game don't put most away supporters off. An extra fiver or so is negligible for the cost of an away day. But they're like us. Love something to moan about.
But yes £25 for a kid? The kids are the future. We have to charge the same for our own support. Nearly £100 for an adult and 2 kids for a home game. Will affect us as the home side even more.

The fact we have a lot of season ticket holders is why prices are so high.
I don't like charging kids £25 either. But you have to ask, what is the aim? Is it to fill the ground? Or is it to maximise income?
The ground is full enough now for there to be a decent atmosphere. So getting bums on seats becomes less relevant from the clubs point of view.

Sunderland fans are as fickle as any other fans. Now they have won a game I expect a few more might be tempted to go, and I would expect there to be at least 2.5k of them. Those that don't come will be put off as much by their poor record at Cov and an expectation that they won't win, as well as a perception that there is likely to be some aggro, as much as by the price of tickets. I would expect the attendance to be similar to that at the Middlesbrough game at the end of the day.

Also when you factor in corporate its nowhere near 11000.
If you think maximum it could ever be with segregation is about 31.5k. Corporate takes up 3k, away fans 2k. You're already down to 26.5k non corporate home tickets.
Middlesbrough game had around 21k non corporate home tickets sold, so was only 5k off a sell out.

Point I'm trying to make is if they had won their first 3 games they would sell out the whole 5k or whatever they were allocated. Its easy to use a boycott as an excuse for not supporting your team if you're disatisfied with their on field performances.

Well away support is probably a better indicator than home support at the moment seen as home support is on an upward trajectory so it's difficult to determine if anything is having a negative impact.
But a team who usually sells out against us, and most away games making general sale suggests something's amiss.

I happen to agree with you on the kids/ young adult pricing, but I don't believe that is the sole reason for Sunderland not selling 5k this time round.

Poor response considering our own fans were complaining about Cat A prices when they were announced. And we pay the same as the away fans.
Have been chatting with the Sunderland board for a week or two and a minority are using the Ghost of 1977 as an additional reason to boycott, that's something we're never going to repair so take those numbers out. But for a 3000 allocation (been told its reduced this year for them ??!!), 1400 is still low. A fair few of those responding to my posts are non-regular away fans getting their first loyalty points on their season tickets. That in itself says something about the feeling regarding the prices.
Have to agree with them, it's time clubs dropped the Cat prices and have a cap like in the Prem. Otherwise, fans will vote with their feet more frequently.

I totally agree , king has got the category pricing all wrong for kids , remember it was only after a fan backlash he reduced the season ticket prices outside the family zone for kids to a lower price ..

Let’s face it , Scumberland fans travel in numbers to get away from their pig ugly 3 fingered wife’s and partners . No wonder they are kicking off about the amount of away tickets available . The uplift on pricing I get , it’s enough to feed 2 bairns
