Do The First Team Players Read This Forum? (2 Viewers)

Anyone got any idea? I know they use Twitter etc but that is more universal and people get copied directly in to stuff. I would HOPE that our players have been given the "steer well clear" of here!

The reason I ask is that it surely impacts the tone used when discussing player performance. I wouldn't want to be part of the cause of a players head dropping! On the other hand, this season-more than any other-has had an atmosphere where criticism isn't encouraged. Obviously I appreciate that's mainly because of calls to give new players a chance, but it does seem to go a bit further than usual-is it because of a concern that players might be reading?

They will no doubt have been told to steer clear of forums in general but you can pretty much guarantee there will be at least a couple who can't resist a look

This place can be a bit mental at times, but it's a lot more sensible and reasonable than the fan groups and official club pages on Facebook and Instagram.
Players actually comment on the posts on the club page as well so they must see some of the mad stuff that gets posted sometimes

Picture the scene at Ryton as they get ready for their training session....Simms to Wright....'Have you seen this that Bad Boy has written about you Haji, what a complete fucking knob'!

And then the whole squad all fall over laughing like the Martians in the Smash advert.

Was going to tell the exact same story.

Pretty certain that McSheff had a direct line to GMK, and I think we did establish that Better Days and SBB were connected to Jodi Jones and Dom Hyam

Yeah I use this place as the relatively sane alternative to FB, Twitter etc. Those places are just cess pits! I consider us quite obscure-but higher quality-by comparison!

I am disappointed the new player songs made on here haven't been able to infiltrate the wider CBS society though. Need more people on the inside

I feel like this place needs longer to acclimatise but once you're used to how people post it's far superior.

They couldn't give a flying fuck what any of us think about them.

The only delicate little wall flowers are the odd posters on here who think any negativity will upset the players.

Players are only interested in their careers, and picking up their inflated wages, the only opinion they give a toss about is MR.

Did Vik or Gus stay because we all loved them? Did they fuck! First club who came along and offered a bigger pay check got them.

is that a polite way of saying once you've worked out who to ignore
Just takes a while to work out who's likely to be joking, who's not and other idiosyncrasies. Sarcasm doesn't always come across on forums. New people getting worried they needed to print their Wembley tickets out in colour being a prime (and very funny) example.

I think they prefer Faceshite as that is full of even more experienced fifa managers than here

You've got to be taking the piss, all as bad as each other! No point looking at any of them unless we win 6-0, and even then you'll have some twat saying it should've been 7.

This confuses me. I asked if they need to be printed but am not new and wasn’t being sarcastic…

I am sure players are warned / educated not to look at forums, but I’d be amazed if they weren’t tempted, and even if they don’t read it personally, both praise and criticism will seep through to them. They don’t exist in a bubble, and some (especially younger players) are bound to take things to heart, it’s human nature. It’s their career and they won’t all be cocky and sure of themselves. Some stuff on here is unfair or even offensive if you look at it in that light, and definitely couldn’t be classed as support for CCFC.

Edit: I’m not of course referring to fair criticism of performances, I mean the small minority of people who think it’s fine to abuse a player from behind their keyboard. Every squad member at CCFC (or any other professional football club) has overcome hundreds of tough obstacles to make it as far as they have, and they deserve respect for that, online just the same as in person. Making it into a Championship squad is awesome. You can’t reduce all of that achievement to saying a guy is shit.
