Don't get your panties in a twist, he looks like a good defender. But he's not the quickest and obviously isn't left footed. He's already looked vulnerable when Dasilva gets bypassed and it will cost us goals over the course of a season. He’s already made his decision on him , typical shit fan
People just don't sign after a phone call and the drop of a hat. Getting deals over the line is complex, especially the ones you really want.
Ridiculous comment after breaking our transfer record twice and having a £4 million bid turned down todayYou got to question whether it’s due to not a single player in the world being the right player for the team or whether Doug just doesn’t want to spend the cash…
Please explain? But make sure it is football transfer window realistic based on reality and fact. From needing 4, we got one cheap loan and maybe someone or maybe not.
Major questions need to be asked of Doug if he fails to get the deals done.
Were the club? Not arsed about that one. He’s not done anything lately
.......If we lose Saturday with no signings
It’s all in context though, we sold probably the two best players in the league, raked in £35 mil and somehow didn’t have the foresight to find a replacement for one of them. Even if the club assumed Hamer was going to stay they should have back up plans in case, they always knew it was going to be 50/50 and yet 3 weeks later they’ve done nothing about it. I don’t think it’s ridiculous to state that Doug has actually spent very little, in fact he’s theoretically gained £11 million so far, hardly a spending spree is it.Ridiculous comment after breaking our transfer record twice and having a £4 million bid turned down today
Close the window… you’ve been warmed up to no more signings
I’ll be fucked off.......

we haven’t raked in £35 million , these fees are rarely the full amount . Are you seriously questioning Kings intentions with the massive spend both in the window and the infrastructure of the club . Just because we haven’t managed to agree a new player doesn’t suggest anything sinister it’s just how the window works .It’s all in context though, we sold probably the two best players in the league, raked in £35 mil and somehow didn’t have the foresight to find a replacement for one of them. We'll be a few points better off than we were this time last season , ffs give it timeIf we lose Saturday with no signings
We have almost a whole season to make amends and still have more points than this time last year.If we lose Saturday with no signings
Squad depth would be a massive concernWe have almost a whole season to make amends and still have more points than this time last year.
Are you saying the club had to sell Hamer to fund the wage bill?"theoretically gained £11 million"
You realise when you sign players the fee isn't the only cost? Wright, Simms, MVE, Thomas etc. are going to be on significant wages relative to what we were paying previously.
Yeah of course I realise that, and I realise we’ve come a hell of a long way, I will always support Robins and the team but I just want us to be competing at the top of the league. We’re so close to having a proper full squad it’ll just be a real shame if we can’t get in a proper quality CM. I wouldn’t be complaining if we hadn’t sold Vik & Gus but when you look at the squad atm and the last couple performances I can’t help but feel we’re lacking. I just want us to be a real force this season that’s all."theoretically gained £11 million"

Perhaps they just can't get the players they want at the moment, and they aren't willing to spunk their money up the wall on panic signings. Are you saying the club had to sell Hamer to fund the wage bill?
Because the message was that we didn't need to sell but he wanted to go and with only one year on his deal it was the sensible to maximise his transfer value now.
Which goes again to why hasn't the money been reinvested back in the squad
As we all do , we just dont need any conspiracy theoriesYeah of course I realise that, and I realise we’ve come a hell of a long way, I will always support Robins and the team but I just want us to be competing at the top of the league. And that was always a risk with such a massive clearance of deadwood. We are in the first transfer window of a squad rebuild. Some people are already looking at next season, not just Watford on Saturday.Squad depth would be a massive concern
Not as a Hamer replacement. As a squad member he'd be great. Probably an upgrade on Kelly & Eccles (not knocking either btw). Can also play as a 10 & LWB so gives options. It wouldnt, Styles isnt good enough to replace what weve lost in my view

No I just want us to replace our best player with the 17 million we’ve accruedThe long term plan looks great , we've signed a number of young players on 4 Yr deals with an aim of reaching the promised land
The trouble is that some of our fans have unrealistic expectations and want it now
That's not how it works
Yes like all our transfer targets and players we are linked with. The Gyokeres deal is out in the open as to its terms.
~£17m is oft cited and is the figure used by eg. transfermarkt. I cannot vouch for reliability. Gustavo Hamer - Transfer historyHave you got a link for this? All I've seen is a gossip article before he signed speculating at £15m. We also know that there wasn't much interest outside of Sheff U. And that transfers in have been "rising to" certain figures, so one assumes that is the case with those out as well unless specified. I honestly feel like it was nearer £10-12m up front.
