I ve been in no way critical of people staying away and I ve been one of them on a couple of occasions. I think we need to respond now though. Robins is turning things around , still not pretty but stats don t lie. I know we aren't going to see 20000 but let's hopefully push towards 15000 to show them their efforts are nt in vain

Performances need to be vastly improved before crowds pick up. This was a win against York - Not ManU, or Liverpool or Arsenal or Chelsea. Yet still they were awful in the first half!
No one in their right mind is going to fork out £50 for 2 tickets to watch 45 mins! - Besides they need to win 4 on the bounce before that would happen, and cov haven't achieved that - yet!
But good to see robins is at least making sure that if they can only play one half, that they don't lose the game in the first!
3 lucky wins and one lucky draw - Robins hasn't turned the form around, but Luck IS currently with City - and that IS noteworthy!

I thought the Milton Keynes match would be a 12,000-13,000, we took all them fans to Arsenal, we'd won away at Oldham and it was a reduced price midweek game at home, We got under 10k and it seemed a lot less!
I hope we carry on up the table, its getting depressing seeing so many empty seats.
SISU let under 16's in for £1 and give away tickets to local school kids, they will come and spend money on kit and burgers.

Ok, where do I start with this nonsense post....
Firstly, you can only beat what is in front of you. We won 4-0 against league 2 opposition who were taking the game very seriously. Isn't that better than scraping through on penelties against the same standard of opposition.
You say no one is going to pay £25 a game but you would have spent more than that last night with tickets and petrol, I assume you went as you are sure they were so "awful" in the first half.
Luck?? Luck!?! Do you really think it is coincidence that the best teams always seem to get the "luck"? That is because if you put pressure on defences, they will make mistakes (or give you lucky back passes like last night). The more chances you create, the more likely you are of getting a lucky bounce etc... I liked Thorn but there is a reason that we didnt get any luck in any game for a year and a half and have now won 3 "lucky" games out of 4 under Robins.

I think if we win Saturday at Swindon lots of interest will be spiked for the Notts County game. They are one of only a few teams most people would bother with as most are just not worth the effort are they? Notts County are a good side in this league and if we aim to go up we must beat them. Plus the old car crash dodger' is back, a certain mr Hughes...who would have thought? That will spike plenty of interest too.
Like I said win at Swindon and I see potentially our run of form bringing in 18k or so. I would not like to bet on that new optimism then falling foul in front of everyone as is usual! Let's hope Robin's could ensure that does not happen this time should we have that opportunity.

The way I see it is this. The improvement is slight in terms of performances but we are winning games we would of lost before. This is down to MR making changes and being more tactically aware than AT. So we should get up there to support the manager if nothing else.
If we go on a further winning run and that extra 5,000 including me don t respond then it goes against the whole "I'm not paying to watch that rubbish" reason

There is a quality young Polish central defender, Jaroslaw Fojut, who was at Bolton and on loan at Stockport/Luton, currently back home at Slask Wroclaw the current Polish champions, signed for Celtic but got injured and the contract was cancelled, Polish U19 U20 U23 player, real quality, just what we need, would be a great signing when fit again.

Most Europeans like other sports more actually. It's only the press here that love to cream themselves over football constantly. In Germany for example they like Basketball, Handball, they have a competitive ice hockey league (considered by many to be the best outside of the NHL and Russian KHL). I know in Poland Volleyball and Skiing are considered quite popular.
That's not to say they don't like and accept football, its just not as overblown as it is here. This may shock some of the papers in this country, but other sports do exist. - think I just heard about 50 sports writers collapse from shock.

i wish i lived in cov id go to every game i could no matter what, ye dont relaise how lucky ye are to be able to see yer team neary every weekend in a great stadium, if you saw the shit hole of a city im in we have nothing one big stadium for munster rugby thats it. trust me id glady pay £25 to see my team play if i could when u never get to see them!

I'm at Sheffield Uni and I'll just give you my experiences of dealing with the club. I know your post was aimed more at students who live in the city term time, but I doubt that they'll sign up to a message board and post their story of going to a Cov game!
Firstly, it's good that the club do a student and young adult price. I go to most away games around here and pay adult prices at many. I've always found the ticket office at the Ricoh to be really inconsistent though. Half way through last season, I tried to buy a ticket and was told I had to pay £5 to register for student prices. Seemed a bit silly because I'd been to quite a few games before and never had a problem. I've since had my Sheffield Uni card accepted one week, then problems with it the next because it doesn't have an NUS stamp. I don't know what the policy is this season, because I now just go to the turnstiles where I've never had to show my student card.
I think Coventry is the only one of top 20 universities not to be going to up £9k a year (correct me if I'm wrong) so there will be students to advertise to. Coupled with the train station (when it's built) and good football (hopefully!), the club could shift a few tickets. I do think though that if a student who doesn't support us had some of the experiences I've had, they wouldn't bother again.
