Swift would be perfect for the attacking 8 role that Hamer did out of the midfield 3
I did think that some of your posts were a bit weird.Really want Swift to happen, if only because I’ve spent most of today posting Taylor Swift song titles without anyone noticing
I'm sure when he was at Reading he had created the most chances or had he most assists in the League.Swift would be perfect for the attacking 8 role that Hamer did out of the midfield 3
Thought Swift was more of an AM anyway?
Social media isn't for anyone with more than 1 brain cell.I take it you don't do social media?
That's not a reason to assume he was posting differently to usual!I did think that some of your posts were a bit weird.
You are on it right now though.Social media isn't for anyone with more than 1 brain cell.
Should we be buying trans players?Erm. He was. But hes tended to be more of an 8 that transitions now then the out and out 10 he was before
I only have 1 brain cellYou are on it right now though.
Should we be buying trans players?
Yeah that’s a very fair point and well made, it’s definitely best to wait if we haven’t found anyone that’s right, if so then my concern how come we haven’t found anyone? Surely there must be someone out there that has similar abilities as Hamer? It's not a choice in the way you present it. We have a target in mind and a maximum value we're willing to pay. Clearly Kitching is someone the club has identified as being a good fit for the club and believe will be worth more than what we're willing pay for him. If that figure is £5m, but we'll have a good 23 year old left sided CB who will be signed on a long term contract.
The question is, have we identified such a player with confidence in midfield? Only time will tell but if we haven't, it isn't worth panicking and buying someone who's a bad fit for the club. With Allen coming back, we have 4/5 CMs (depending on where he sees Ayari fitting in) and if we have to wait until Jan/next season to sign a good Hamer-esque replacement, then so be it.
Like with Brekalo, it could be the case that the player(s) may have different seasons to English leagues.
Favourite post of the thread so far... Seeing someone say if you take our three best midfielders out then our midfield is average
Thats why we got Rob guerney back. So he can cover Oggy who's going in goalWait until you see what happens if you do it with our goalkeepers!
Dasilva 25Assuming this goes through we’ve done a good job of rebuilding the defence.

Nah mate that's just not good enough. Because we haven't signed some guy from a Danish div 3 team who we've all never heard of but all deffo want because there's a clip of him pinging one pass 40 yardsAssuming this goes through we’ve done a good job of rebuilding the defence.

I was going to point out that you have more than 7000 posts on this online message board, but then I remembered you’re the guy who thinks the moon landings were fake, so it would only support your original pointSocial media isn't for anyone with more than 1 brain cell.
Also Kitching turns 24 soon but the point still stands, it's a healthy position to be in for the longer term.Knew I forgot one
We could feasibly field an outfield XI all aged 25 or under. Albeit Godden & Fadz more than proving their worth at the minute.Assuming this goes through we’ve done a good job of rebuilding the defence.

None of your posts seem to grasp how hard finding players and completing transfers actually is.Yeah that’s a very fair point and well made, it’s definitely best to wait if we haven’t found anyone that’s right, if so then my concern how come we haven’t found anyone? Surely there must be someone out there that has similar abilities as Hamer?
I saw a tweet this morning along the lines of “People should forget about a Hamer replacement. He’s irreplaceable. We can’t find anyone of his quality. End of.” Which I find ridiculous, Hamer’s not irreplaceable, there’s plenty with his attributes but we have to pay for that talent. We got very lucky finding him for such a cheap price but I don’t think players like Vik/Gus come along that often for the price we got them at. We could be waiting a long time to fill that hole if that is the case. I’m not saying we should rush it but waiting and waiting if we’re not creating chances could also be a slippery slope.
Either way it’s done now and obvs not getting a CM this window so we just have to hope Eccles and Sheaf stay fit and play out of their skin.
How much were WBA after?Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...
But Kitching will be the lot it seems
How much were WBA after?
I agree with you to a point. The issue is that, the reason Vik and Gus progressed at the rate they did was due the number of games they played. Remember when Vik was basically our only striking option? With our current signings, such players playing time will be much more limited. See: for e.g. Sakamoto (who I still hope prove to be a fantastic signing)I do agree that we could have spread some of the cash around. Id rather three Vik or Gus type signings than one £5m personally.
