Robins on Lati in midfield (3 Viewers)

“Well, potentially,” he said, “but I am not really looking at that. He’s a defender first and foremost, and I think he needs to know where he needs to be, and I have got other players for that position.”

To put to bed any speculation that Lati would get played in midfield without a massive injury crisis.

Still dont understand the Binks signing tbh

Early days. Defence has looked ok before Saturday, albeit obviously getting to know each other. Robins wouldn’t have wanted to chop and change unnecessarily but will probably have to now after Saturday, international call ups etc.

This is the issue with having half decent players outside first 11 though. It’s ok adding another 2-3 but when everyone’s fit some good players won’t even make the bench. Not ideal when you expect to play or be in contention

Sure Binks will get a decent amount of game time as season goes on. I was surprised he didn’t get some minutes Saturday but chucking him into that type of game (chaos as someone said) might not have been wise

People are getting too carried away with Lati in midfield.

He's never played in centre midfield at club level. He's played out wide in the past, but never in the Sheaf/Eccles role.

He played against USA, St Kitts, Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala and eventually Mexico where they lost 3-0.

Even the US team he played against did not include their best 4/5 players.

It's a bit different to playing at Championship level.

I thought Binks looked decent at Exeter (more solid than Thomas) and he’s come to play. So I hope he gets his chance, liked his attitude when he signed, and he’s played some serious football.

I thought the defence were excellent against Sunderland. Then for whatever reason on Saturday it seemed to be a bit of an off day. Wouldn't worry about it too much. Wouldn't be too quick to drop anyone either. We have a really good amount of quality there and I am sure we will get to see Binks and Kitching as the games build up.

I'm sure he could play there in an emergency, but it would need Sheaf, Eccles and Kelly all to be out at the same time. He isn't going to play ahead of them out of choice.
