I was thinking more sit on it for a bit, run out of options, then have everyone say Burroughs is the answer anyway. Then we can spend the profit on the next Haji Wright

When the winger got played down the flank and MVE just sprinted past him, literally everyone in the stadium laughed. Made their player look like a snail

tbf if after a season on loan Burroughs isn't pushing for a first team place next season, he probably needs to find a new club for his own sake anyway.I was thinking more sit on it for a bit, run out of options, then have everyone say Burroughs is the answer anyway.

If we get another £20m this time buy 10 £2m players.
Stoke have a net spend of about £9 million whereas we are well in the black on our spending.Said nobody. It's about getting value. MVE looks like good value but it's always easier after the event and you can't expect every signing to succeed, so nobody is being a smart arse. I was as excited by the Wright signing as anyone. But to suggest £4m for a wing back is not a lot of money at this level is an odd statement.
The point is, we've spent a small fortune and yet we're all moaning our squad is too small. Blues, Stoke and Hull have all done good business having spent a fraction of what we have spent. Hopefully we'll be looking down on them come May. That doesn't mean you cannot be concerned at some of the fees paid.

You’ve gone off all over the place there about a bunch of stuff I’ve not said. He was £3.5m same as Simms, same as Palmer when he moved to the Champ years ago, it’s a fair fee for a high profile youngster from a decent league.
My point wasn’t about his fee though, it was about spreading risk rather than putting all your eggs in Haji Wright.
I’d put him on the half way line when we are defending corners, for the quick counter attack. His acceleration is unbelievable

I don’t like us giving ourselves more to worry about defending corners while also giving us no counter attacking option from them.I’d put him on the half way line when we are defending corners.
I remember a few seasons ago when Robins put 3 on halfway when defending corners, I thought it was a brilliant plan. No idea why we now bring everyone back?I don’t like us giving ourselves more to worry about defending corners while also giving us no counter attacking option from them.
You then saw the opposition bringing more players back in response. Now they see we leave nobody up so then they leave perhaps 2 players back if that. Then the box gets a lot more congested and I think situations like those favour the attacking side.I remember a few seasons ago when Robins put 3 on halfway when defending corners, I thought it was a brilliant plan. 'My old man said follow the Van,Needs a better song.
Sky Blue Army loud and proud last night.
If we had him and Jay Da Silva to our squad last year. We have had a shot at 2nd place. What a guy. Love him already. Long throws, fucking rapid, decent defensively, scores free kicks, name provides endless comedy commentary moments, looks like he fucking loves it here. What a breath of fresh air after the cavalcade of right backs we’ve had to put up with.
I don't think his success rate there is any better or worse than most other managers at this level. Mowbray does seem to have a very good eye for goalscorers though, if we ignore his Marc Antoine Fortune obsession.Just hope we don't have to sell him to fund another strike force because so far it looks like we've paid way too much for Wright and Simms.
I've always felt MR isn't great at picking strikers. Yes, we got Gyok and McNulty came good, but a lot of his long term targets in that area have ended up being duds.
I clearly luck into his mediocre games. Saw the first three then today's.
Very flat today. Got the ball, stopped, passed it back. Time and again. Sakamoto at least ran at their defence a bit.
He has so much pace to burn but it seems totally wasted in this slow tempo approach. That's how I feel.
I was almost blown away by him Friday but prior to that I didn't really see the fuss. Tonight was the same
Sakamoto has a fair bit of pace himself too, did very well to race back and intercept a counter attack after the ball was given away from a set piece. He needs space to attack with his pace. That would be made for him by central midfielders driving forward and demanding attention from the oppo but it aint happening
6 million Sheffield UnitedHow much do you think we'll be able to get for him in January?
6 million Sheffield United
I have a feeling Sakamoto was playing their striker onside for the 3rd too.We don’t give that second goal away with him on the pitch, Sakamoto’s exciting going forward but not a RWB
Only play half a season so don't rule it out.Perfect, do you think that LA Galaxy would sell Billy Sharp?
