According to this graphic, they played Gus at AM (left)??

No wonder he was so lost, then.

Which could well be why only Sheffield Utd would be prepared to take a chance on him.

I dunno, I guess if I could earn £20k-£40kpw without really trying, I'd probably find it hard to make an effort to make sure I earned that for longer!
There were one or two posters on here expressing surprise he wasn't signed by one of the top 6 clubs as a squad player.

Just seen him at Hearsall Golf Club, he was talking a few of the lads that were dressed head to toe in white titleist clothes - white teeth - white powdered noses and freshly transplanted hair. Apparently he wants to come back ASAP. Fat little turnip.

Ben Wilson said he's not really into keeping himself fit, loves a drink & doesn't eat well.
He’ll turn up at Ryton in Jan, Stella in hand with the residue of a maccies round his mouth and puffing away on a Marlboro red and Robins will take him back with open arms.

Would love him to still be here, he’s a game changer and the second half of last season the impact he had was immense. We absolutely miss that player this year.

However, petty as it might sound I still feel bitter re the way he left.

I wish him well, I’d take him back, but I think the way he left will always leave a bitter taste.

Some of their fans saying he doesn't chase and try and win the ball back enough, which is weird as that's exactly what he was known for here. Makes me think he's a bit lost in position / tactical set up at United.

He’s trying but it’s the pace of the game against top teams/players, you’d get away with it in the Championship

I saw a bit of their game briefly and I do wonder whether his lifestyle choices are just not sustainable at that level, the pace of the game is just that bit quicker, Newcastle moved the ball around really nicely.

He seemed to be playing much higher up the pitch mind you, his starting position was higher than when he played "attacking midfield" for us. He's not a no 10 or an attacking midfielder and is most useful in "the transition", they're not really using him like that it seems.

I loved him at City and still wish he was here. It has always been known that he likes a beer, which even for a pro footballer is fine within reason, but as he gets into his late 20's it will be far more difficult for him to maintain those same levels of fitness if it is more than the odd beer. It will be intersting to see how it pans out for him over the next few years.

Couldn’t give a shit if he drinks eight pints a night followed by a curry. Just makes the rest look even worse TBH.
