Don't think anyone less than a 6. MOTM Simms for me and Allen close behind. Kelly and Eccles did well. Both wing backs solid.

Good day at the office.

1st half dog shit 2nd half premium dog food... pity Eccles let his man have a free goal but much needed boost to our moral and even more to our points tally only another 39 for safety 😉

Wilson 7 Very good save in the first half

Latibeaudiere 6 Solid but quite conservative going forward
Thomas 6
McFadzean 6
Binks 7 Been our best CB for weeks now, the Kitching signing seems even stranger
DaSilva 6 Very quiet game but the chant is good on a day like today

Kelly 7
Eccles 6 He was dreadful first half
Allen 8 MOTM The only player to show a bit of impetus

Simms 8 Clearly a very capable striker at this level
Godden 7 Anonymous first half but very good link-up play in the second

Ayari 6 The kid simply doesn’t work as a number 10
Wright 6 Has the attributes to be a good striker, the question is when?

Wilson: 8 - What a save.

Lati: 7 - Looks decent at RWB.
Fadz: 7 - Proper shithouse. Love it.
Binks: 6 - Decent.
Thomas: 6 - Much better than recent performances.
JDS: 6

Kelly: 6.5 - Credit to him.
Eccles: 6.5 - If he had a Hamer and Sheaf alongside him, we'd be going crazy about how good he is at winning the ball back. The problem is, he's being expected to do a little more. He's got his strengths but also limited in other areas.
Allen: 9 - He's come back with confidence. It's like he's realised how good he can be. He was superb.

Simms: 8 - This could be the start of a confident run. Has a song and got the love from the fans.
Godden: 6 - Movement was good as always. What was he trying with that shot towards the end?

Kitching has been signed for the long term. Binks is only here on loan

I want Binks and Godden to score so I can write the Binks Matt goal robbery
Like it but we'll take 3 and replace goal with Joel for Lati

Thought we were ok today but we were playing poor opposition. Feel for Wilson conceding again due to poor defending. Awesome save kept us in the game and a good save in the second half. Deserved a clean sheet. Defensively, we are not where we were last year and look dodgy on crosses prticularly from our left. Lati better defensively down our right against a tricky player. Fadz business as usual apart from the Van Basten shot near the end. Booked again due to poor communication. Binks muscled out of it for their goal but good otherwise. Worried that Thomas made a mistake again that means they should have had a pen. Needs to sort his lapses of concentration out. Eccles pretty good, a lucky deflected goal. Kelly I watched closely and he does take the easy sideways or backwards pass too often, but was ok. We need a like for like sub when he tires. We need subs who can relieve our defensive midfield. Allen made a difference today and was MOM in the second half. Godden worked hard and was unlucky when Lati stopped his shot and his header that was off target. Simms, business as usual first half snatching or delaying chances then two good strikers goals. Hadji is where Simms was snatching at chances. Ayo again showed he is a class footballer but needs to toughen up. I am not going to get excited about winning at QPR as that match could have been a Cardiff repeat if we had conceded in the first half. Need to beat Blackburn which will be a real test of our progress before bogey side Norwich.

I’ve decided, although my memory may be fading and therefore happy to be corrected, that Eccles reminds me of pre-injury Lloyd McGrath.
