Is the picture genuine? Would you be able to take a photo of what was on someone else's phone from that far away?

No issue with them getting banned if that’s what they actually did, but arresting them?
Yeh I thought this. What's the charge exactly?

Yeah, I just think a ban would suffice. Would certainly wipe the smug grins from their faces.

Arresting seems just a tad OTT.

Hmmmm can't see how that could ever be misused.
I seem to recall reading something where it hadn't been used for decades until the late 80s and now gets used as some kind of catch all for things like this that don't break any other law.

Are they really going to charge them and go through a court case, for what? What punishment a court could give would be deemed acceptable?

Named and shamed is enough I would say. In a era when first time stealing is a caution then you can be sure no meaningful punishment will come out of it

I am more intrigued by what sort of phone they have, never come across one with such an impressive display. That is taking technology to a new level.

Absolute arseholes. The sort of scum that gets football a bad name.

Like others though I’m not comfortable with this being an arrestable offence. People knowing them for the dickheads they are is punishment enough.

Also, if mocking death is an arrestable offence, how many Sunderland fans were nicked for their vile Jimmys in a box song?

Lives quite rightly ruined because they couldn’t take losing a football game. When will this breed of football fan learn that you can’t just do what you want and not face consequences?

Not just football, everything in life has consequences but don't tell the enlightened and entitled.

should we fuck bloody monstrosity wrecking our countryside to accomadate 3 Cities.

When eventually we can barely use our cars in 20 years, how are we going to all squeeze onto the current West Coast mainline?

You can't get a seat on it these days as it is.

Quite right. But in this instance a load of football fans have goaded two sore retards into doing this. It’s a game of football and their first idea of what they’ll probably call “banter” is to get a pic of a dead kid on their phone. How can a game get to you that much?

Are we going to arrest the whole stadium of shite when they start chanting about Jimmy being in a box? Arresting people basically for being in poor taste is ridiculous. A ban is fine, that's up to the football club. But an arrest? Do me a favour.

Best punishment would be to make them work for a couple of days with other cancer suffering kids. If they're not remorseful after that then there's no hope but imagine they'd be wailing in the first few minutes if they have any kind of humanity.

Because the world has become a playground for sickos.
Something has seriously gone wrong with society.

How do you get to the very few stations HS2 will actually stop at, and who will be able to afford the fares? Reopening lines closed by Beeching would be of more use to most citizens. Huge white elephant.

Arrested, named, shamed, police seeking a banning order and remanded in custody until Monday morning & possibly loss of employment too.
I hope he’s jailed.
Sitting in a cell for 23 hours a day with a couple of leery lags and a bog for company might give him and others with similar mindsets a bit of time to reflect.
Using a six year old cancer victim as he did for those on here who can’t see why he’s been nicked ffs! take a look at yourselves.
Think what that youngsters family think.

Jailed? Way, way OTT in my opinion.

Named and shamed should suffice. That and a banning order.

I CAN'T see why he was nicked and am more than happy to look at myself in the mirror over it.

I don't think you are going to find next to anyone who is going to agree with you here, Slowpoke.

Police should, and do have bigger fish to fry and the courts much more important cases to be brought forward in front of them.

Because people in Coventry, Milton Keynes and Rugby continue to use the Avanti services while people going to Birmingham and beyond will use the new line.

behave - the police don’t have the resources to come out to burglaries and common assaults, how do they have the resources for this?

fucking ridiculous

Police have done their job and done it well, identified him, nicked him hopefully early morning and charged him & remanded him in custody down to the courts now.
I can’t think of anything worse than using a picture of a deceased six year old in that manner.
A months porridge will do he will have big problems inside. Followed I’m sure with a life ban from watching Sheffield Wednesday. It sounds like there’s a bit of sympathy from some on here.

What?

Absolutely zero sympathy. It was a ridiculously scummy thing to do.

Just doesn't warrant jail time though. That's an utterly ridiculous notion.

A ban would suffice and he could well lose his job over it couldn't he. He's publicly shamed now.

Surely that's more than enough.

I don't think one single person on here has shown an ounce of sympathy.

Life ban yes - but arresting people for being nobheads is dangerous.

like I said - I was once getting threatening letters before my wedding. Police wouldn’t do anything unless I was attacked.

Burglaries - they’ll give you a crime number and tell you to go to your insurance.

ridiculous they’re getting involved in this. The prisons are overcrowded. There’s real crimes out there and the police won’t do fuck all.

Yes not sure I agree with an arrest for a distasteful picture .

And ofcourse it's up to Sheffield Wednesday to decide who does and doesn't get to go inside Hillsborough..

What ever happened to people just saying sorry and life going on
