For whom? Our problems are clearly elsewhere on the park. Having a different player not getting decent service isn’t going to help much. Or are you suggesting he play in midfield?

Yeah to me it looked like there was a point where he was touching the ball with both hands, but didn't look like he was holding it!

He doesn't need to be holding it. The law says in control of it. Having a hand on it and it being in contact with the floor counts as being in control.

The refs have completely guessed it's just the right call, but he was technically in control.

Right, so not in the context of the game or as a reflection on the performance of the players he might replace but because he cost a lot. Sunken cost fallacy. I’m sure he’ll come on at some point but he isn’t going to solve any of the very clear problems we have in this specific game.
