He has been near starting line up already though.

I don't disagree with your point btw. Just don't think wright doesn't try to press because didn't make the fan pleasing run at keeper press.

I'll keep an eye on it next time he gets on the pitch though.
This is pony.

Fucking guy needs bust a gut! Just like Kelly did himself an injury getting back at all costs on their breakaway.

Fucking wont have it a guy pussy footing around the pitch like he does for his cameos. Unacceptable. My point of view. And I stand by it. Its not enough for me.

In saying that he seems a timid character and I was over the moon he scored.

I think it's becoming clear that a few posters have firmly nailed their flag to the 'two useless donkeys' mast.
From that position they cannot bring themselves to admit they might be wrong.
There's people on here who wrote (22 year old) Tavares off and still don't think he'll make it, and yet Wright (age 25) who has had way more minutes than Tavares and they want more time for the guy to "gel"
Unbelievable!

He come on and did what we needed him to do. His goal scoring instincts won us the game. He’s missed a few sitters but show me a striker who hasn’t. There was nothing wrong with his work rate when he came on either, some of you have made up your minds already and it’s quite frankly pathetic

He’s just moved to a new country, new team mates, new formation, new tactics. It takes some people a bit longer to adjust. There’s far more to it than just ability, they’re human beings

Rediculous.
But we need some evidence to prove that we've bought quality, and we've seen precious little of that so far.
Both need to have more impact in their all round game, and we should be seeing that by now.

It's no coincide that Simms and Wright have attracted criticism and the other signings haven't.

This isnt about Tavares.

Nah not made my mind up
Judging him on his 10 games so far. Seen absolutely nothing that tells he hes a high end or has the potential to be too end championship striker.

Hes extremely poor. End of discussion really. Let's wait for him to actually do something before we start jizzing songs about him.

Totally agree, ..... but, we are very nearly a quarter of the way through the season, and this isn't the premier league, it's a very average championship, we've just played Huddersfield, QPR, and Blackburn, not Barcelona, Real Madrid and Man City.

How long should we wait before we expect to see signs that he's a £7+m international striker? Or before we realise that we may of made a mistake?

And just for the record, I honestly hope he does become the striker we desperately need, my only hope is that the return of O'hare along with Sheaf and Palmer etc may result in more chances for him.

2 goals and 2 assists in under 500 minutes of game time is not a bad return.

I think he looks like he can do the business, you can see what he's about in fits and starts. None of our forwards have been helped by our dysfunctional midfield this season.

Kelly had to bust a gut because for some mad reason he was the player we left back at corners... that was a particularly odd tactic.

This forum makes me laugh, one game can change a player from being worst striker to ever grace our club and worse than Baka to world beaters scoring a header from 4 yards out!

Tavares has 1 goal in 16 appearances in the Championship (albeit often short ones)

Why are there such extreme views on Wright? He has strengths and weaknesses like any other player. It's clear he's got the running power to trouble any defence at this level, it might not be refined but it's an attribute Godden can only dream of.

I also think the reason Godden can run all game is because he's not doing high intensity sprints that require some im game recovery. Gyokeres was immense at being able to run at high speed all game so we've been somewhat spoilt there.

Gyokeres trained incredibly hard to fulfil his ability and potential. We can only hope that Wright has the same work ethic moving forward

Dean Austin , Doug King and Mark Robins at a guess ?
Shame they didn't have your number when we were linked with him eh ?
Great work from Dean Austin. Haji Wright bargain of the season. 🤣 defenses around the championship shitting themselves about our record signing.

He wouldn't look put of place in league 2.

I wish they did call me before they spunked £12M. On Kitching and Wright.

Would have saved the club £10M. In money they will never get back.

It's good 👍 his positional awareness is actually pretty good .
