Is Eustace a Blues or Villa fan? I know he's a birmingham lad
Villa 100% - mate of mine in Sutton Coldfield was in local football with him, all 3 were Villa fans, John came to Cov, Steve and Rich went to Walsall and West Brom, but only John made it. They've given him loads of grief/banter for taking the Blues job but he's done really well.

Sounded nailed on when the rumours started yesterday, but still absolutely bonkers. As we know from past experience, getting rid of someone who's doing fine just because a bigger name is available is a disaster waiting to happen, and I'll wager they'll be finding that out before long.
Indeed. Mr Potato Head's glittering managerial career will leave BCFC much poorer, in more ways than one. The peoe who make these decisions are completely unhinged.

Of course it will be. Rooney is a world football superstar suits the American dream
World football superstar?! Messi, Ronaldo (x2), Ronaldinho, Mbappe. They're world superstars, not sure Rooney fits into the bracket.

That's either so good hyperbole and I really under-rate his career.

Anyone know what the consensus on their forum is?

Well he’s Englands highest capped player, until recently Englands highest goal scorer, won just about everything in the modern game a number of times with Man Utd, been there since he was about 17, so he ain’t far off is he.
To be honest I don’t give a shite who manages Brum or the Eustace sacking which for some reason seems to have touched a few raw nerves on here, strange.

In identifying a successful coach rational clubs take into account previous performances. Obviously, in Birmingham's case they ignored data and decided they liked the name Rooney!

Eustace is now the bookie’s favourite for the Rangers job.

It’s hardly the holy grail of management, Beale’s CV would fit on a post it note.

And Celtic and Rangers aren’t what they once were.
Beale gave a good impression of a man so far out of his depth, he was walking on the bottom of the pool. The Old Firm are a shadow of their former selves.

Never trust Directors who do not have a clue. When Eustace took over Brum they were nailed on relegation candidates. Turned them around and they are doing really well at the moment. Unsure how well or badly Rooney did in the USA, but get the overall feeling he is a mediocre manager from his time at Derby with a good assistant. Football is full of great players who were shit managers although some like Zidane do well. Think Rooney is one of the the former. I think their Diretors think they are Chelsea.

My bro’s a Bluenose & he reckons this has been nailed on for weeks & that Eustace was only ever one game away from the sack since the new owners came in

I think he is right and the deal with Rooney has been bubbling since the summer.

But I hope results fall down past their ears and Rooney is a flop.

Rosenior was the tactical brains at Derby and has done very well at Hull, I think Rooney is going to struggle at Blues.

Birmingham fans I know aren't happy with this as you'd expect. The new US lot in charge there are really nailing their colours to the mast.

It's a bizarre statement saying the board and football management need to be aligned on the importance of a 'winning mentality' - almost as if Eustace didn't have one. As for the 'no fear' playing style they're banging on about...cringe.

Eustace has done a great job there and certainly won't be short of takers.

As for Rooney, well, we'll see how he does, but I definitely feel the owners there will live to regret this decision.

As if it wasn't already mad enough...

Rooney to earn treble Eustace's salary.
Rooney always came across to me as somebody with a reasonable level of self awareness. I'm sure he must be having some doubts over where this is going!

From his perspective he gets a fat pay packet and a pretty decent squad to work with.

Absolutely nobody here has reacted in such a way.

Football fans pointing out horrific decision making in football. Yes, so very strange!

was going to argue with this but while looking up stats I’ve discovered that Rooney never won a premier league golden boot? That’s a mad stat surely. Nice little pub quiz trick question.
