Ayari probably shouldn't be playing, but definitely not panic stations. We should have won Saturday, and even though performance not great overall tonight still have a great chance of getting a result. It's simply about grinding out results results in games like these, something we haven't been doing.

Ayari for Sakamoto. We need some more energy up top.

Then dependent on how that goes, I expect he'll want to give COH a run out for 10 mins, maybe back to the box, and a lone striker.

We look indifferent, certainly not the same level of intensity as the first half against Bristol

It looks disjointed and slow all over the pitch as per usual, we're fortunate not to be going in behind too. Against a team bang in trouble and with a patched up defence we're threatening little.

Really poor.
I agree it's a bit pedestrian. Thing is we haven't just overhauled the majority of personnel, but have totally switched up our style of play as well. That takes time, especially when you have key players missing.
This was always a transition season in my eyes.

Feel like the patience and goodwill of more chilled fans will start slipping if we don't put these away and play well this half. Players are getting back fit, we've got enough to rotate the XI. Time to score some facking goals, innit.

Ayari did clutch at his hamstring right at the end so that might make the decision for Robins.

I think Sakamoto would cause Rotherham a lot of problems

We’re a player away from our strongest 11 and look on a par with relegation fodder Rotherham…

And it only took two players to turn us into the 4th best side in the division last year?

I honestly don't think we have been that bad.

Simms' touch has been poor at times, but on occasion he showed some good touches laying the ball off for others. Didn't like the way the ball was bouncing off his shins and feet though.

Sheaf has played very well and he only real weak link for me has been Ayari. He has looked a little lost, some of his passing his been very poor and he has been out-muscled a lot too.

I think we may well have to sub him soon

How are Middlesbrough winning week after week after a substantial player turnover of their own?

What’s worrying is that we have played two bad teams on the trot and not managed to score in 1 and a half games. I wish I knew what the answer was. Back to box perhaps but who would you trust to play up front on their own?

That was our forte last season , play badly and hold on for 3 points

I thought Simms was dropping back in to the hole and linking up alright. One heavy touch and took a nice snap shot that was well saved...
