Yeah, let’s sit on our money after losing half our starting 11, fantastic idea mate.
we've not spent 20 million combined in the last 20 years, but you think spending it in one summer is clever. Dafty

Well that… was fucking dreadful.

This is the worst we’ve looked since the first season back in the Championship when we were delighted with every point.

Robins and the scouting team have a lot to answer for because buying good players is fucking easy on FM and I’d have the lads in the Top 2 by now.

Is Robins a classic situation of a manager that shouldn’t have money to spend?

Robins has been a fantastic servant for the club through the tough times, but he’s got a new challenge now when you spend big money the results have to come. It’s as simple as that. Wake up call for everyone.

He’s been a legend during the hard luck story times but seems lost now. No spark at all and the set up seems stagnant all around

We are so low in confidence it's making it really hard to watch. We have control of possession and can knock it about ok. We also have some decent players, but teams are doing a job on us. They know just to hang in get the goal and then, roll about, walk about, boot it long with very little intentions of playing just a desire to hold in.

They certainly know we are not good in front of goal and know we miss more than enough chances. Sadly the only way we get out of this is to work harder and wait for the bounce and these players to get it right and improve.

Shit night, shit performance and really no excuses for what we are seeing.

How long did it take them to develop into top players?

In fairness Hamer looked a class act from that first friendly against Rangers.. Vic always had power and speed on his side you could see that as soon as he came in on loan.
Not seeing hidden spark in Simms currently who needs a ball at his feet in the 6 yard box and offers not a lot else, first touch loose and can’t hold the ball.. maybe Sunderland just played to his strengths .. and Wright jury’s def’ out.

Lack of game plan is worrying. Lack of adaptability is an unfortunate trait MR can’t seem to shake - and it’s needed this season more than before without Gyokeres/Hamer to pull a rabbit out.

Signing of Kitching is bizarre.

Wright looks absolutely miles off, and both him and Simms devoid of all confidence.

Lack of team spirit is evident and - again - at a time we need it most, while going through a rough patch.

However it’s certainly not time for MR to go and relegation talk is mental.

Don’t get me wrong I’m as pissed off as everyone, but we have time and things will improve.

Didn't one of the ITKs on this forum say team spirit in the camp is pretty low? May have been @Saddlebrains ? Maybe we are seeing the effects of that now

Revisionism about Gyokeres, general consensus was he looked bang average.

Agreed on Hamer but he had issues other than talent that needed sorting.

There are a variety of different issues, but I think playing five at the back just isn't working for us. Our midfield generally cannot score as it is, then you have five defenders who won't really contribute either. Then factor in on top of that, that our strikers look like they've been washed out of retirement from the Azerbaijani league and are lost. You end up having problems.

With many of the players being underwhelming at the moment, that is bad enough. Throw in the hesitancy to ever react quick enough, generally predictable substitutions, and what looks like to be no real plan B - and it isn't really surprising that things aren't producing results.

I've been a bit estranged recently for a variety of reasons but did decide to watch today. I really wish I hadn't. We have on paper what should be a pretty decent team, and some really marquee players, but it just isn't working. I feel sorry for anyone that has made the effort to go. If you are going to lose at least put up a bit of a fucking fight. There seems to be a lack of aggression and passion all over, which is concerning to me at least.

Just need to trust Robins and give it time. We can’t do much more than that. We miss Vik massively. He allowed us to play the ball out long on the counter and wait for midfield runners to join up. Now it’s pedestrian tippy tippy midfield stuff in front of a packed defence.

The big issue is that we’ve decided to try and swap to a system that doesn’t suit any of the players in our team. Why the manager has thought that was the way to go only he knows but it’s not working and not only are the results bad but the football is terrible to watch at as well.

Dasilva, Godden and Binks need dropping. Bring Bidwell back in. Give Kitching a run. Need more fighters in the squad atm.

Looks like we will be rushing O’hare back which unfortunately is needed atm but we have to get a couple midfielders in come January.
Don’t know why he didn’t bring kitching on at halftime they were winning all the knockdowns and we needed more height, I think mcfadzean needs a rest he’s getting beat in the air all too often recently.

How much time do we give him ? Things have to change before December I think else Doug will act.

After watching the fans forum I’d say no matter what happens robins won’t be going anywhere, him and Doug are in exactly the same place, it’s a rebuild season, hinted at players coming in January, we’ll be fine,it’s just a bit of a come down after last season

Who is going to want to join this sinking ship in January?

It’s a lesson which had been learned elsewhere: throwing money at new players doesn’t work. Too many players signed, too quickly.
Exactly. I feel that suppose we’d sold Gyo and Hamer and didn’t release any other players, we would at least have a lot of cash on hand and may be at the same position or who knows maybe higher up the table. But at least we could justify why were are not as good as last season. However now after squandering all the proceeds from the sales, we are in a precarious position with no way to justify the crap we’re witnessing now.
