Guess the issue is that the price was set based on a Saturday, not on Sky?
The game was picked by Sky 6 weeks ago plenty of time to alter it but DK has no intention of doing anything like that but if form drops and we stay in the lower reaches of the table this will come back to haunt him.

Feeling strangely optimistic about this one. Maybe it’s the tactical shift to the box. We definitely need more creativity when we get into the final third. Sakamoto having Allen buzzing around him should in theory give him more time to create. Both have excellent work rate too so won’t give their back line a moments peace.
Wright on his own will be interesting. We clearly haven’t played to his strengths so far. The finished on his two goals so far shows that he is an instinctive finisher and he’s clearly very quick. He might well be better suited playing on his own upfront.
Kitching for Fadz is also interesting to me. Kitching was club captain at Barnsley so he clearly has the right leadership skills. We have also spent a lot of money on him so he needs to start playing regularly now.
Some of the comments about Ayari have been a bit harsh. He’s finding his feet in a league he’s never played in. He’s already a full Sweden international so clearly has something about him, think we need to give him a bit of time.
We will start to come good so hopefully the hysteria and writing all our new signings off as ‘shit’ will stop then.
If it’s true that the newer lads are quiet they need us to fully support them from the stands, let’s get behind them instead of constantly slagging them all off

They had plenty time to change it, like the Huddersfield game?

Agreed, King obviously has a poor understanding of the motivations of football fans, masked by our successful season last season

Stoke will bring a small following at £37 next week too. I can't see Birmingham selling out either.

Not feeling it at all… it’s times like this we pop up with a Fulham and spank them. Suspect I’ll be back on the motorway before the final whistle 😳

I like the thought of starting Wright on his own up front. You can tell from the YouTube clips that he has some talent, even though we haven't seen it yet.

We need to start him for a few games - either as a lone striker or as one of a pair - and hope that he takes his chance to seal a starting position.

I think it is time to give him a run in the side. Has he started two matches in succession?

It's definitely tempting to save the petrol money and watch it on Sky tonight, hard to get up for 4 hours on the M6 when we're in this kind of form. Blind optimism is just about getting me through, I'm excited to see if we improve with the box, especially being able to bring O'Hare on against tired legs. 2-2, Allen and Wright

From what's been said above I assume it'll be:

Wilson
Lati Kitching Binks
MvE Eccles Sheaf Dasilva
Saka Allen
Wright

Collins, Thomas, Fadz, Bidwell, Ayari, O'Hare, Simms, Godden, Obikwu

I don't care who Robins picks as long as they do the job they are asked to do. Every aspect of our game needs to improve, i don't care about individual ratings, we need the team to show fight and desire to get a result. The result is more important than the performance right now as we need to gain some confidence.

Defending and attacking set pieces would be a good start and being quicker and more progressive in possession would help. I get we need to control the tempo at times but when you pick to go forward it has to be at pace and not over playing it. Get a head by being direct and with purpose, then you have the right to control the tempo and do what every other fucker does to us, roll around holding a body parts, taking 3 minute for goal kicks, pinch territory on throws ins while taking 3 minutes to do it and genuinely piss about slowing it all down. I would be telling them to take it in turns chatting and misdirecting the ref to get a decision. We need the result by any means these new players need it and will gain a lot from an ugly win. If we win with flowing football ill take that aswell, but like team selection, i don't care the result is more important.

I completely understand what you're saying & think most fans would likely agree, but I can guarantee you MR doesn't feel the same way. If we did that tonight he'd probably take it, just to break the poor run but he wouldn't be happy.

He is committed to changing the way we play to have more of the ball & take control of games rather than winning by any means necessary. The rationale being that methodology makes us more of a serious contender long term & is a sustainable project for the future.

There's no point us being in control and having the ball if we don't score goals though. In theory, it would be lovely but there needs to be a Plan B where we do "win by any means necessary" when the first option isn't working.

Dads ill so it’s go alone or watch in the warm on TV. Leaning towards the latter at the moment.

2-0 WBA

Can see it a change of shape to a 5-2-2-1, lot of nothing possession for us but few chances. WBA to score an early first goal, the crowd will turn throughout the game, we will chase the game and concede late on again.

All in all looking forward to this one… 🙈

Seeing some solid primary evidence in this thread of the wider effect of our poor form. Momentum built from last year in terms of the fanbase is rapidly disappearing, not that I can blame people at all.

think im the only one excited for this one and i went to Bristol and Rovrum. Bit of a local derby in front of around 24k under the lights. Go up to mid-table with a win. Yes weve spent a lot of money and should be doing better but its a lot more exciting than turning up 6 years ago to watch us v Carlisle in front of 6k PUSB

Team won’t matter as much as the tactics and will to win
If we play at 70% we will struggle to score if we play at pace we will make chances

Think robins needs to explain we keep ball to work chances not to keep the ball

need to quicker and more accurate and take more risks

if not then Wright godden or simms will be marked out the game and we’ll struggle

I’d play Simms on his own and add an extra Am. Hopefully Ohare will get up to 25

Probably realised he’s played barely any minutes and isn’t match fit. I don’t understand why he’s not been given minutes in the U21s to keep him up to speed

I think he did play in one a few weeks back.

Doesn't seem to be a thing that Robins likes doing though. Not sure if other teams in the league do it.

Maybe he thinks the risk of picking up an injury in a small squad is not worth the benefit of some minutes against a bunch of kids?

Also, I really really really hope Eccles is off corners, he’s a great lad but he just can’t take corners. Dasilva, Sheaf or Sakamoto should be taking them in my view. With the amount of set pieces we get we should definitely be converting more, we’re letting teams off the hook in almost every aspect atm.
