Also, I really really really hope Eccles is off corners, he’s a great lad but he just can’t take corners. Dasilva, Sheaf or Sakamoto should be taking them in my view. With the amount of set pieces we get we should definitely be converting more, we’re letting teams off the hook in almost every aspect atm.
Has Sheaf ever taken corners in his career? Don’t remember him doing so for us.

There's no point us being in control and having the ball if we don't score goals though. In theory, it would be lovely but there needs to be a Plan B where we do "win by any means necessary" when the first option isn't working.
Yeah, we're not getting it quite right at the moment, it's all too pedestrian & missing that creative spark.
I think he might be a bit more pragmatic until he can bring more creativity in during the January window, but I fancy us to be really inconsistent for most of the season tbh.

It's difficult because, as evidenced above, some fans will be turned off following the unexpected high last season, but if MR & King really believe in this "process" then they have to hold their nerve.

Probably not but I don’t know who else can take them other than Dasilva, surely anything has to be better than Eccles taking corners? Sheaf has a decent shot on him, I assume he can take corners? I realise it doesn’t always work like that but we really need to find an Eccles replacement for corners.

Either that or go to short corners for the interim.

Are Eccles' corners that bad?

They aren't great. But I think we struggle just as equally from poor delivery as we do from not having many players capable of attacking the ball.

We're quite a small team really I think. Even our centre backs aren't very big

Lati is 5'11
Fadz 6'0

I think we'll look more threatening with Kitching in there, and Thomas to be fair.

I agree to a point, but to get in a good corner with whip and pace is altogether something else. I'm surprised that van Ewijk isn't taking any after that goal from the free kick a few weeks ago.

It depends if people can see signs of it working.

As fans, we see 2 best players sold, season ticket price increases, loads of money spent on players and absolutely terrible football making it a chore to go up when shit loads of our home games are moved to be on sky

Same

1 mates dropped out, daughters got a cold so she wont be going, shame because its extremely rare for her to get to a night game without school, and my son went 'not that bothered its not exactly exciting anymore is it'

Really 50/50 if i can be arsed

Really don’t understand people posting all week on here then can’t be arsed to go to the game. Bizarre.

Eccles put some corners into decent areas last Wednesday but nobody attacked them. They had a bloke who headed 3 away unchallenged centrally on the edge of the 6 yard box.

He did do 90

Neither was on the bench, and Palmer and Kelly still haven’t even managed to make the squad

Other than that…

Yea find the posts after that that were still pre Saturday you lemsip
Well yes, like your prediction of the Doug King takeover, it is indeed easier to get things right when you confidently predict that every single scenario will happen.

It’ll feel typical Coventry City to win tonight against the the favourites having been shite against two teams we should have beat.

2-0
