Probably about right. Also sum up my feelings for Wright. I thought he did ok but missing those chances was woeful.

I still think we’ll get there at some point. We surely can’t go a whole season missing these chances.

We also have a worrying habit of completely falling apart in games.

Another shit night.

Such a shit error from Wilson. That’s f*cking basic goalkeeping is n’t it?
Collins might get his chance now.
Feel sorry for Wright, thought he looked bright as the lone striker.

Wilson 5

Not commanding today

MVE 6

Tried too hard.

Fadz 6

Leading the line ok - not his fault the Lino was inept.

Thomas 5

League 1 Clogger

Kitching 5

League 3 clogger

JDS 6

Tried

Eccles 5

Predictable

Sheaf 4

Really poor and off the pace.

Allen 5

Gets the ball, gives it away.

Tats 6

Tried. Gets the ball, no output

Wright 4

Has a chance to show what he could do. Did FA.

——-

Subs

All mediocre.

Conclusion:

This ain’t a team going up, need to seriously think about holding it together so we don’t go down.

Not bed wetting - look at the table and stats - what can’t speak can’t lie.

Wilson - 4: Fumble.

MVE - 5: Easy to defend against him.

Fadz - 5: The decline has begun. He's a good man to have if you sit back and defend like previous years but less so in this system.

Thomas - 4: Mistake waiting to happen

Kitching - 4: Worrying for the cost.

Da Silva - 5

Sheaf - 5

Eccles - 4: Could be lower with those set pieces.

Allen - 6: One of our weaker players in recent years and stands out as one of our best players, even after a tough summer. Says a lot.

Sakamoto - 6.5: Hard to understand why he isn't playing every week.

Wright - 5: Puts it away and we're saying it's a good performance. Gyökeres missed plenty like that but his head never dropped. Haji looks petrified after one mistake.

Subs: CBA

Robins: Strange subs again.

Referee and officials - 0: Our poor performance has glossed over that. Mistake after mistake. Clear offside. Only 4 minutes of stoppage time. It was tough to watch.

Sakamoto is absolute garbage sorry. Falls into the ‘runs around abit so is a fans favourite’ category
but his passing, threat on goal, direct positive running is all horrendous

Wright -0. Cut our losses in January. that miss for a professional footballer is criminal. I don’t even want him playing again. Will be sold and looked upon as our worse signing in history

Da silva. Again absolutely horrible. Why not Bidwell why!?

Thomas/Kitching- Absolute League two plodders. Calamitous who cannot play in the ball playing system we signed them for.

MVE- Pace but dire final anything. Probably would look good in a good side but looks amateur in ours

Our scouts need sacking asap. Cut our losses on as many as we can

What a fun season ahead..

Wilson - 3 that's a schoolboy error
MvE - 5 showed up more , thought he battled well but where is his pace we heard about?
Da Silva - 5 first half thought he was very good , second half anonymous
Thomas - 5 there is a decent defender in there but has lost confidence
Fadz - 4 great servant but is on the wain now
Kitching - 6 thought he was aggressive, battled hard and used the ball well . Would be more than happy seeing him central in place of Fadz moving forward
Sheaf - 4 nothing happened for him tonight ,poor performance
Eccles - 6 was good tonight , broke play up well and used the ball positively. Needs taking off set pieces
Allen - 5 first half linked well , second half he tired noticeably
Sakamoto - 7 starts every game for me , positive, aggressive despite his size and is fast becoming our most consistent performer
Wright - 5 oh Haji ,Haji . So wanted him to score , actually played the lone striker role well but is so low on confidence

Subs :
O' Hare - 5 will improve us massively but so rusty currently
Lati - 5 didn't do a lot but looks like a leader and would find a place for him currently in the starting line up
Godden - 4 tried but nothing happened for him
Simms -4 meh

Wilson 3 can we try one of the other 2 keepers please
Van ewijk 4 afraid to cross looks surprised to beat a man
Thomas 5 not upto champ level
Fadz 5 needs a rest and to start coaching his replacements
Kitching 6 looked good played a few nice balls stick him in mid haha
De Silva 5 lightweight not quick afraid to cross
Sheaf and Eccles 5 defensive midfielders are called that for a reason but we are stuck with two players who play the same when we only need 1
Allen 5 was a 6 but that chipped cross in the first half what is going on in his head
Saka 6 I like him passes are mostly weighted well could play cm with a bit of coaching but needs to let go of a shot and not look for a pass
Wright 4 American Jay boothroyod has all the attributes can see what the scouts saw in him but just needs a kick up the ass and a centrally playing lump to play off
O'Hare 5 ring rust needs a month in the b team
Labs 5
Godden 5 dunno what he adds not tall enough to play center not quick enough to play on the shoulder but finds space. Would be better playing deeper and floating into space for the second ball
Simms 5 dunno about him either Everton sent him out on loan when they had one fit striker.

If we were not in a relegation battle and last match lost our 6 pointer I would say get a good attacking coach in and hit the training ground but guessing we will start sitting back more and try to scrape a pen for a 1-1 in most matches.

Anyone else notice alot of our players are smaller and skinny time to hit the gym for a few months and start to win dirty post Christmas.

Genuinely i am interested to know. Apart from running abit which is the bare minimum expectation, what threat at all is Sakamoto offering?

He scored zero goals in a relegated team in the Belgian league, arguably an inferior league to our own last year.

His crosses, passes, and final ball really our amongst the worse in our team.

He runs and is a one trick cutback merchant. But nothing more.

I don't think he is a goalscorer to answer your first question .
What I like about him is he plays on the front foot , he punches bigger than his size when it comes to a one on one battle and I think he is an intelligent player too.
There were many times to night he was looking for a quick pass or a quick cross but some of our other players weren't on the same wave length

Van Ewijk 6 - best player for me, much improved, odd he was taken off
Thomas 5
McFadzean 4 - looked jaded tonight
Kitching 5 - generally solid but gave the ball away a couple of times, but recovered and composed
Da Silva 4 - went AWOL in second half again
Eccles 5 - puts himself about but distribution was poor. Cannot afford him and Sheaf in same side
Sheaf 2 (had an absolute shocker I thought)
Sakamoto 6 - good first half but faded
Allen 6
Wright 4

O'Hare 5 -
Latibeudiere 6 -mystified why he isn't one of the first names on the starting line up each week

Atleast he was there to fail tbh it's a 7 compared to the rest he is a winger being asked to be a provider. You can see the Japanise coaching there (passing and directness) but you need movement around you to be effective. He looks scared to shoot like alot of the players

Problem we now have is we don't have the players to switch in so it's square pegs in round holes.
For example wright looks better playing on the left wing and cuting inside so if we switched to effectively 3 uptop he would have the space to be "explosive" IE not tracking back and sitting in the gap between fall back and CB but since we only have 3 strikers there would be nothing on the bench.

Today we played a 3421 for most of the game but because we don't have the cover in midfield the only thing robins can do is switch a wing back and bring on a striker or two.
Dunno what we can do to change it tho have to play 3 at the back because we have LOADS of cb's but add that to the only midfielders we have are holding DM's or lightweight am/wingers there's nothing we can do to change the style. Now I am rambling and at a loss hahaha

I like Sakamoto and tonight he looked a little stronger and tried to hold his own more which is encouraging. What frustrates me is no defender can get near him when he is dribbling the ball into the box or near the box so why doesn't he just keep going. We will get penalties or goals from this, doesn't always need to pass it back or on!

Wilson 4 didn't have much to do but did it badly

Van ewijk 5 lightening fast without the ball but has to slow it down in possession. Frustrating.

De silva 4 looks neat and tidy but largely ineffectual

Fadz 5 didn't do a lot but looks extremely slow at times

Thomas 5 I think there is a good defender there but makes me nervous at times. Needs to work on longer range passing.

Kitching 6 best of the defence and looks to have an aggressive combative side that we dearly need.

Sheaf 4 one of his worst performances, gave the ball away so much and did nothing when he had it. Ballooned a few shots again.

Eccles 5 worked hard and did the dirty work well but can't spot a clever through ball or over the top
Tats 6 was good in the first half but faded. Not sure why he got moved out of 10

Allen 6 lively as usual, thought he should score in first half.

Wright 5 I actually thought he did a lot right in terms of runs off the ball and some decent touches in the box but the finish is clearly lacking. Has to score the 1v1 so marked down. When is any of the midfield going to play. A ball over the top for him?

I personally preferred this box formation than the two strikers. We don't move the ball forwards quickly at times.

Saka offers nothing ultimately. If we are relying on him we are fucked

Decent shot first half well saved by keeper and another blocked by defender (couldn’t tell if it would’ve been saved), linked well with MVE, comfortable with both feet and beat his man several times. Needs to maybe be more willing to have a dig but first half in particular I thought he looked a threat

Wilson 5 Regressing to the mean

Thomas 6
McFadzean 6
Kitching 6 Horrible brain fart in the second half should have given them a third

MVE 7 Took MR’s criticisms to heart, we looked at our best when he ran at them
Eccles 7 MOTM Excellent first half, faded in the second
Sheaf 6
Dasilva 6

Allen 6
Sakamoto 6 Just don’t make him do defensive work

Wright 5 Link-up play is very poor, so if he’s not finishing chances, he’s an albatross

Latibeaudiere 6
O’Hare 6 Understandably rusty, the fans are expecting an awful lot from him
Simms 6
Godden 6

He was the only one with any kind of positive attacking intent and energy. To pick him out for criticism after a performance like that from the rest of the team is beyond ridiculous.
I thought he had a decent game, and he’s more fun to watch than most players, but let’s not pretend he was putting in good crosses tonight - he wasn’t

He’s positive, not afraid and has some quality.

Whereas, you have Eccles as MOM, who cant put one accurate uncontested cross in to save his fucking life.
