Didn’t score though and that’s his job.
Neither have simms and godden for the last 2 games against worse opposition

This system appears to suit him better than two up top, but there’s no denying he was miles off it tonight
He'll be alright when his monthly 100 grand hits his account in a couple of days.Thought other than his glaring miss (I know that’s his job) he lead the line well tonight. Felt sorry for him, he looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up.
I thought he did alright too. Some of his spins on the edge of the box were excellent. You can see his confidence is low.Thought other than his glaring miss (I know that’s his job) he lead the line well tonight. Felt sorry for him, he looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up.
yep just said exactly this on another threadI did notice Robins applauding the fans for singing Wright’s name after his second half miss - I wonder how long that backing from the fans will last.
Wants it to feet, yet was caught offside a few times when making a run off the defenders shoulder?Agree, when were looking to go forward and need an option he's just stood flat footed never looks to bend a run or look for space, always wants it to feet, when he does run into space hes offside. Frustrating
I don't think you could have supported the City very long if you think that.He will go down as our worse signing in history without doubt.
He was having another power nap.His best moment of the game was when it took him about 30 seconds to realise he was being subbed off because he was too busy staring at the ground.
If it’s relative to the fee, then it’s hard to argue tbfI don't think you could have supported the City very long if you think that.
How old are you out of interest?
Most expensive in the clubs historyI don't think you could have supported the City very long if you think that.

I think Wright switches off for long periods when the ball isn't near him. He's happy to stand marking an opposition player on the edge of the their box when the opposition are launching a sudden attack. He doesn't seem to understand the basics about finding space or working hard off the ball.

He doesn't seem to understand or care about drawing a defender with him by doing a diagonal run etc off the ball to allow space for another player to move in . It's not rocket science. It's what should be instinctive to some degree.Got no problem with him missing chances and he was at least involved in the first half but the two points above are my greater concern. 9 times out of 10 though he offers absolutely no run or out ball which prevents us getting forward quickly. Doesn't seem to have any movement for a striker. I know they are very different players but Godden comes on and his movement puts Wright to shame.
You want him assassinated?!We need a hitman, I mean a target man.
No, I was right first time - We need a hitman.
I just can't see this issue being resolved any other way.
It was genuinely quite funny how often he was just standing offside for absolutely no reason. He doesn't seem to understand or care about drawing a defender with him by doing a diagonal run etc off the ball to allow space for another player to move in . He saw their player get away with it and probably thought he could tooIt was genuinely quite funny how often he was just standing offside for absolutely no reason.
Imagine if that Thomas Asante chance had fallen to Wright.
Either that or resign himself to some remedial striker coaching. You want him assassinated?!
Interesting many are picking up his lack of movement. Thought he moved plenty far earlier on in moves, as if he wanted a direct ball. When it works to the edge of the box, as we did a million times, he didn’t really offer anything. Watched the chances back and the main one everyone’s speaking about wasn’t particularly an easy chance but he has to hit the target. Of more concern was the first half chance where it’s come to him for a first time finish on the edge of the 6 yard box and he’s put it well wide.
Yeh I agree, I thought his movement was actually fine, it's the finishing that was the problem. Clearly a confidence thing and its going to take some turning around now. None of our strikers look the answer atm.Interesting many are picking up his lack of movement. Thought he moved plenty far earlier on in moves, as if he wanted a direct ball. I think he means the other one, when he went with his left foot instead of his right. He put it wide.He didn’t? It was saved.

And for the record, he is absolutely fuck all like Vik, it makes me wretch when people keep saying this.
I think the issue is that Vik was good at so many different things that you can compare him to any kind of striker. He was phenomenal at holding up the ball and link-up play, whereas Wright doesn’t do that at all.And for the record, he is absolutely fuck all like Vik, it makes me wretch when people keep saying this.
