Problem with both him and Simms is working what it is that they do do
Neither of them do an awful lot, especially at a combined £10 million.
Are they quick…..Not really
Are they strong ….not really
Are they aggressive…..nah
Good in the air…..nope
Leaders of men…..nope
Great finishers…….🤣🤣

I'd still like to know what what the plan was in buying two big money strikers.
What was the thinking?

Simms has, at least, shown previously he can perform at this level. Its on the management team if he isn't performing here.

Start giving the testosterone shots. They’ve both got the ability to be quick and strong and good in the air, just lacking some aggression.

Would give Wright another run out on Saturday up front on his own.
Really want him to turn a corner with us, and I've not given up just yet, but he looks like he always wants that extra touch that you don't get time for in the Championship and the opportunity for a shot on goal has gone.

From looking at the highlights, he had less time for that one on one chance than it looked in the ground, but really need to be hitting the target at least

I was saying same about Wright yesterday at the match, he wants too much time on the ball. I reckon it's a hangover from Turkey where he probably had a lot more time. Fits in with what Robins was saying about "certain players" being shocked by the intensity of the Championship, but players do adapt eventually.

We can go on about formations and tactics and the Eccles corners and the price of ham etc etc but it's been a dreadful piece of recruitment for £7.7m and he simply isn't good enough and we have accept that and not keep looking for reasons and over analyse it too much.

Good players can play in any formations or show ability. Walking home last night i was reflecting and if we had simply recruited better with a couple of half decent forwards we would have won that game or worse case got a draw. The performance at times was good but we have to start again in the close season and move on and try and claw back as much as possible from Wright and Simms and do better next time.

Thing is if YOU was Doug King would you have confidence in the recruitment? I know what i'd be thinking.

Don't agree. The coaching team has to work hard at integrating the player and building confidence, and we have to hope he wants to put the effort in. There are no other options right now, not when the £7+ mil has been spent. We don't need to start again in close season, we need to forge ahead from where we are now.

As far as Simms is concerned, he's 22 and cost a few million. He could prove a great bit of business if he finds his feet.

Gyokeres in his first 13 games for us scored 2 goals. Same as haji wright but wright has 1 more assist.

Do with that information what you like...

I did notice with his 1 on 1 miss he said "come on Haji" to himself. He knows he is better

We all want to believe things can get better, that he can adjust , be sharper and tougher. No sane Cov fan wants to see him fail surely. All that said he’s going to have to improve considerably and up his work rate to make the grade. Even his two goals thus far were more or less hard to miss.

At least with the chance last night he did everything right but score. Took a touch and hit it decently.

Many strikers low on confidence would’ve wasted it by taking too many touches.

I mean surely this is the point which, for some reason, needs to be repeated over and over again. No one here gains if he fails at the club, and it's not set in stone that he's going to be a total flop. So unless you're a Leicester fan in disguise, I don't see how comments like "he's shit" and "get rid" are helpful. Certainly has my full support.

But he missed so all the technique counts for nothing.

Now has the best minutes per goal of the squad, plus 2 assists.

At this minutes per goal ratio he would score 20 goals if he played every minute of a 46 game season...
Stick with him and he'll do OK, always said a 433 formation would suit him better and we may be about to find out.

I have to be honest both he and Simms looked far more comfortable making runs into the channels second half. Still made hashes of it once they got in the box but even so.
