Our 'strikeforce' are fucking dreadful, I'm even now looking forward to Tavares coming back and he's no good either....considering Robins was a striker apart from Vik he's not great at spotting decent ones really.
Special mention for Bidwell today definitely a marked improvement on Da Silva and he crossed more in this game than Da Silva in all the games for us

Simms was starting to cause Stevens problems down that side then he was dragged off.

At least Godden stayed on and continued to contribute fuck all.

Bet Rose and McNally were dreading dealing with him all game.

Did they even break into a sweat?

Nope. Godden just doesn’t cause defenders problems. Like him for what he’s done for us but we’ve got to play the strikers we’ve spent money for….actually as strikers. Simms would’ve caused them problems centrally today.
They switched several times throughout the match

Just can’t believe how little Wright seems to want it. Ducks out of every aerial duel, pulls out of 50/50s, doesn’t chase down balls and gives up in foot races. You’d think if you had a point to prove they would be the things you tried to nail.
I saw him win some duels, go in for 50/50s, press the defence and attempt to win a few races. His bigger problem was what he did when he got into the box.

He played well today, that aside

Collins 7 - not really tested but was comfortable with everything he did.
Latibeudiere 7 - beaten a couple of times but their highly rated winger didn't get much change from him
Thomas 7 - looks better in a back 4
Kitching 7 - good physicality
Bidwell 8 - some good early balls and crosses and defensively very good
Sheaf 7 - some moments of quality on the ball but severely tired last 10
Eccles 8 motm - he was everywhere and broke up so much of their play. Much more confident now and it makes a difference
Allen 6.5 - busy as usual. Linked nicely a few times but needed to do better with the two chances. Think he won more headers than Simms and Wright put together!
Simms 6.5 - starting to see his pace now. Needs to get those efforts on target and hold onto the ball better
Godden 6.5 - set up two Wright chances with a lovely cross and deft touch but he had to score that header from Bidwell corner
Wright 5 - if he has desire, he hides it well. Thought he was better second half and charging down the keeper was a breath of fresh air. Very surprised that he remained on the pitch

O'Hare 5 - way off the pace at the moment
Sakamota 6 - think he needed to come on sooner to get the team further up the pitch.

Bidwell motm. Surprised at low scores for Sheaf, his workmate was immense.
Prob all 7s apart from strikers extra point for bidwell.

Strikers 6 each all missed a good chance.

Did you leave at half time?

He was the opposite of this 2nd half.

Collins 7 Kicking not great first half but the quick throws have some promise

Latibeaudiere 7 Very good defensively
Thomas 7 Looks miles more confident in a back 4
Kitching 7 Really good physical presence
Bidwell 7 Refreshingly dependable and industrious, some good deliveries too

Sheaf 6 Made some baffling decisions late on and wasted it when he did SHOOOOOT
Eccles 7 MOTM Like him or not, he’s going to be pivotal if 433 is going to work
Allen 6 Why can’t he just be taller?!

Simms 6 Bad miss in the second half, but he was unlucky not to score and we looked less dangerous when he came off
Godden 6 Played that central role very well dropping back but loses a mark for THAT miss
Wright 6 His languid style makes him a frustrating watch but in the thick of things again

O’Hare 5 Expectations are much too high
Sakamoto 5 Isolated and didn’t look to be on the same page tactically

Eccles and Sheaf brilliant. Also thought Kitching had a good game and Bidwell showed why he is and always should have been first choice. Godden out, O’Hare free behind Simms and Wright and we’ll be fine.

Didn’t watch but step in the right direction? We still don’t know best 11 but formation had to change
