A couple of shrewd signings in January and there’s no reason why we can’t go on a similar run to last season. I’ve always said that next season would be the one though and I think it’ll be then that we see the best of Wright and Simms too.

Agreed sickboy but did you not say that we had dreadful recruitment this year? Apologies if it was not you.

The main impact has been made by players who were here last season

The two players you described as “brilliant signings” have now been benched and the formation changed

Collins, Kitching, Thomas, Latibeaudiere, Sakamoto, MVE and Wright

played a big part in two clean sheets and four points in a week.

I'm not ignoring Bidwell, Eccles, Sheaf, Allen and Godden but this still feels like an odd take.

Yeah the back line is the big difference. Being able to play with another man in midfield has helped hugely. But that’s enabled by Kitching Collins and Thomas, and to an extent the fullbacks.

Godden is our top scorer - Sakatomo has had very little impact until last week, Wright is hit and miss, Lati is often left out and MVE uo to now hasn’t had the impact most would have thought

On ratings threads the regular older players are scoring the most

Robins has to take all the credit again for this. Would not have been easy decision after 4 defeats in a row. It's worked a treat.

I think if anything it is the other way round. What did we have to lose?

I don't particularly want to be negative, especially after we've just won 3-0, but I think he should have made the change quite a bit earlier. There were many of us on here calling for a 433 style for a while.

It's clear he's playing to maximise the talent he has available.

There was an element of square pegs in round holes about previous formation.

There's no doubt...Bidwell and MVE are better Full backs than Wing backs for example. And saka on the wing.

But still the credit gos to him for making wholesale changes.

Keeper change and seems to be phasing out Mcfadz.
