If he hadn't of resigned the club would have released a statement nearly instantly to set the record straight. They are clearly buying time trying to sort out something now.

CWR said Ranson would only say earlier that any statement made would be reflecting the views of the club and not him personally. This was before the story broke that Marlon was not going to Cardiff. Which does make me wonder if the fact he was not loaned out has led to a potential change of plan from Ranson.
