O'Hare is a Burden on the Team (1 Viewer)

The reason of that being his contract situation, people are just lashing out. If he still had 3 years people would remain patient and supportive. Football fans are very fickle, nothing worse than thinking a player doesn't want to be at the club you support

Its the fact he’s fucking off the second he’s fit (or before). The decent thing would be a year extension and go for a reasonable fee in the summer after we’ve given him a chance to prove himself.

............... but as of this moment that is just a rumour. We are all presuming that he is leaving, but he hasn't signed for anyone as yet, or said that he wants/ intends to leave. Getting on his back because of 'rumours' is certainly not going to encourage him to sign a new contract for us.

I think the fact we no longer play with a No 10 is a fair point to raise. People thought MvE couldn’t play any more cos we went to fullbacks!

We played with a 10 against Stoke and started with one against Plymouth.

Seems to be quite adaptable depending on the the opposition and match situation.

It is early days after such a long injury for O'Hare. But watching him v Plymouth I am not sure that he is lacking fitness?

Plenty of running constantly on the move, but he seemed stuck in second gear, lacking that sudden burst of energy to put the press on like he used to? Also there was one moment when Eccles or Sheaf was bringing the ball out in midfield with O'Hare to the side and slightly behind. O',Hate had a whole channel in front of him to attack, as the player on the ball drew the press. O,'Hare seemed aware of the opportunity but lacked the pace to get in front of the player carrying the ball.

When he gets on the ball he still has a trick or two and looks useful posing a creative threat. December into January will be an interesting time for him and us as a club?
Surely that is lacking fitness. At elite level fitness is the high intensity stuff like hard pressing.

It's a subtly different role home v away I think, almost seems ideal to rotate him and Allen in it

He was awful in the first half an hour but one of the better players in the second half. He was consistently finding those pockets of space between the lines like he did pre injury.

Agree with this, utterly forgettable 30 minutes but once we introduced some width he looked a lot better. Still not the same as he was, granted, but a better display.

And yes, you can have the 4231 in the second half 😂

I did say it is early days, but just commenting on what I saw.....

I just think too many fans are expecting too much from him? Even before his injury he had areas of his game he needed to improve.

He's looked rusty as hell since he's come back and like he's playing within himself a bit which is understandable after a long term injury, as well as lacking match fitness. The only way all of that's going to improve is with game time and we got 75 minutes out of him today, towards the end of which he started to look half decent again. Still a long way to go but if nothing else it will have helped him mentally.

The issue is he’s not playing better than Tats but started ahead of him. Tats is part of our future COH part of our history.

I have no issue with giving players minutes their current form doesn’t warrant if they are part of your future but if they are not it’s actually damaging your present.

Well, CoH is part of our present.

I'd love it for him to be a part of the future too and get back to the level he's capable of. Whether that happens remains to be seen.

That’s not my point.

He doesn’t want to be part of our future and isn’t good enough currently to start in the present.

At the moment that's nothing but rumour, but no he isn't good enough to start right now. Though to be honest I wasn't expecting him back on the bench until New year.

Ohare will never be the same player he was before his injury as he will never have the pace he once had or quick feet. Whether he can adapt his game remains to be seen but one thing has struck me is Robins has not once said its like having a new player having him back which is what managers often say when long term injured players come back.
I would not be surprised to see him gone in January somewhere on loan with a mandatory fee as part of that deal.

Only seen game in a bar, Great body language from COH. For a player that is very talented but not a goal scorer , that was an exceptional performance, particularly in first half. Not sure where that leaves Ellis and Hadji. totally shown up by COH.

Playing in different positions?

Why can no one on this site praise one of our players without slagging another one off?

Great performance all round . Was just talking to a friend who’s a Leeds fan . Saying if we still had Gus and Vik we would not be in the play offs but top 2 . And up . Let’s keep the faith and dream #PUSB
